I felt I was cheated because the room was too small compared to the picture. So I had to move out after one night to another place and my son stayed. Please make it reasonable photos. They were Totally misleading.

Great place right in the middle of the village, which is amazing. Quiet at night, but you can hear your neighbors through the wall, so it depends on who you get. For those unused to sleeping on futons, they are quite thin and so if you don't like hard beds, you might not enjoy. The 2nd night, we asked for an extra grey back mattress and it was much better.

Location was perfect within Jeonju Hanok Village. Plenty of good food options around within walking distance. Bed was a bit thin and personally not very pleasant to sleep on. Overall a very nice place to experience staying in a Hanok.

Location was superb. The owner/staff are quick to answer questions and offer their help. It’s true that the bedding is very uncomfortable. I had to fold my futon and it still was very hard. Also there was a lack of protection against mosquitos. I was very happy to leave this place after 2 nights because I got bit more than 6 times by blood hungry mosquitos at night.

It was such a unique experience staying in a Hanok within the Jeonju Hanok village. The property was located along a narrow street with no car access hence it was very quiet and peaceful. The check in was easy and fuss free. The futon provided was sufficiently padded for me and I found it comfortable to sleep on the floor. The floor heating also works well and I could feel it from through the futon (would be important during colder seasons). Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Sweet little Hanok villa room.
The owner is very helpful with tips on food and places to visit. He is on hand to help us with booking of taxi when we needed one. He texted all information needed to get there before our trip.This Hanok villa is very beautiful and authentic and there are only four rooms where we stayed. It is smack in the middle of the Hanok village and within walking distance to eateries and interesting places to visit. The futon is too thin though so I had to fold it in 2 to feel more comfortable. I hope they provide at least a couple of cups in the room even though there is a kettle.

Great location in the Hanok village. Sleeping in a Hanok isn't easy but the owner helped us with extra mattresses and online communication for anything we needed which was extremely usefull.

Fantastic location but...
・Overall : Considering it's a Korean traditional house, It was okay as a one-time accommodation experience. ・Rate : a little pricey (considering other options such as normal hotel) ・Service : The host is kind and they care about guests. ・Comfort : has calm and Korean traditional surroundings but you have to be quiet because your neighbors can easily hear you. ・Location : Fantastic. *needs to deodorize damp smell and clean the AC.

The owner was very helpful, friendly and fast to response to our request and queries. Very nice and cozy Hanok, felt like home. The room is well maintained and very warm in the winter. I would highly recommend this place to travellers.

The place is a very cozy traditional Korean home at the heart of the Hanok village. Very convenient to walk around and explore the area as well as close to public parking. It is small as expected, but has all the necessities and everything works very well. My room had a loft, which can accommodate two more people. I love the traditional heated floor and the tiny rear “balcony”! It may feel a bit cramped and uncomfortable for westerners (hard floor, no furniture)

Great stay in an amazing location. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating. It was amazing being right in the middle of the hanok village but on a quiet, attractive side street. Just be aware that the futons are not very thick, and you might not sleep well if you are a side sleeper. I woke up sore in the morning because I am more used to Western-style mattresses. It's probably just as comfortable as staying in any of the traditional hanok, but just be aware of this issue before you book. I'm still glad I stayed there for the experience, but two nights was enough.

Beautiful traditional hanok room and a great host!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in mid-July. Although the village was full of people, this guesthouse is on a quiet side street and was very peaceful. The room is elegantly simple and quite comfortable. We were the only couple there at the time, so I can't say what it would be like with others staying nearby, but the atmosphere is serene. The owner, YK, was wonderfully helpful and had all sorts of great recommendations for places to eat and things to do; we really appreciated his suggestions and concern about our visit. We did not have a loft room, but if you wanted a bit more space, that would be a good choice. Thank you for making our stay in Jeonju memorable, YK!

Traditional Hanokstay
Nicely positioned Hanok, easy to find with owners multiple messages and maps prior to our arrival. Met and walked through the heating and door lock system. Very clean and tidy with the usual floor bedding. Our first night seemed to be full occupancy, and a little noisy, although not disturbing so. The following nights we were the only guests, so very quiet. The bathroom was quite a good size, with deluxe heated bidet/toliet. Overall, it was a good stay at this Hanok.

Lovely spot in the heart of Hanok village
This is a lovely little property right in the heart of the Hanok village. Very clean with a large, modern bathroom. We got a taxi from the train station to drop us off on the street in front of the Le Win hotel (one of the big ones there) and directly across the street from the hotel is a little alley with a small sign saying Gaeunchae. Go to the information counter at the station and they will give you a form in Korean to give to the driver telling him the address. No cars can access this alley. Just follow it along for 1min and you'll find the house easily. Google maps offline worked well for us. We never met the owner (too much sightseeing!) but he sent me on Whatsapp lots of info about places to eat and visit. All his recommendations were great! Be aware that you are sleeping on traditional mattresses on the floor, so while this isn't always the most comfortable, it is part of the experience. The room is also not a large American hotel size, so accept that as part of the experience too. The heated floors make it lovely and cozy, there's TV with an English movie channel, and we really appreciated the early check in (not always available on busy weekends).

Great stay!
Really nice, comfortable stay. The location was excellent for exploring the village, and while it was tucked away off a main street, it was very easy to find. Cars cannot drive on the road that the entrance is on, but it's a very short walk (about 1 minute) to the road where a taxi cab drop you off if coming from the train or bus station. The car-free atmosphere adds to the charm of the place. The proprietors were there to get us settled in and gave some restaurant tips, all of which were great. I would stay here again.

Nice traditional Korean house (hanok) experience
If you stayed in jeonju, it's good to have at least one night at hanok to experience. Easy communication through any texting applications which is good. Strict 3 oclock check in, can't do early check in. But stow luggages in the storage room but without anyone looking after them. Can't talk loud at night. Can hear baby cries from the next room. But overall a good stay.

Extremely helpful host. Friendly. Lovely .Went out of their way to provide help in English with maps and restaurant recommendations location of banks etc.. Sleeping on thin mattresses is a little tough for us but TK gave us an extra one. Room very clean and bathroom great

It was so great. The hostel is right inside of Hanok village, and it's gorgeous itself. The host is really thoughtful and kind. She recommended all the attrations and restaurants and heated up our room voluntarily before we arrived. The room was clean and cozy. I strongly recommend this one!

Incredibly helpful management, fun experience
We were very blessed to have come here! Although we never met YK in person, he was able to communicate throughout the whole stay via phone, SMS and KakaoTalk, and answered all of our questions. We had no idea how to make it down to a trailhead at Jirisan National Park two hours away, but he gave us detailed directions and with his advice got there so quickly and efficiently we were amazed. They are so kind and helpful, and run such a great little hanok stay. I would unreservedly recommend Gaeunchae to anyone else, and I hope to stay here again if I'm able to make it back to Jeonju!

Great location in the heart of Hanok village
The owner, Mr YK, is a wonderful person. He sent directions to the GaEunChae, a number of recommended food nearby and maps to me via Line, 2 days before I arrive JeonJu. GaEunChae is about 15minutes from the KTX Station and costs around 5000KRW for the cab ride. Have to stop outside the Hanok Village and walk in as the streets are narrow. It may be difficult to find the Hanok hotel but just follow the pictures and maps Mr YK has sent over, there shouldn't be a problem looking for the Hanok Hotel. Went to the BiBimbap restaurant recommended by MR YK and it really made the trip to JeonJu worthwhile! It has the best pork rib soup and Bibimbap I've had so far. Mr YK even helped to set the temperature of our room higher when we were out touring, to keep us warm from the winter chill at night. There are four of us so I took the duplex. However, as traditional hanok rooms are small, we have to open our luggage one at a time. It would be better to book 1 hanok room per person to be comfortable. The location is great and all the attractions are within walking distance. However, it may be difficult to get taxis to the KTX Station. It is better to include ample time (1 hour buffer) for either hiring or hailing taxis.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gaeunchae. The owners contacted us immediately after we booked and was incredibly friendly during our stay. The hanok is located right in Hanok Village and so it was great to explore the Village. The linens were fresh and the bathroom was clean. I would highly recommend the place to anyone visiting the area.

Great location, perfect stay.
Host was very helpful, coming to guide us in and helped us settle in with English instructions. They also provided us with laundry because we were staying more than a couple of days. When we left, they called the taxi for us at 5:45 in the morning. Excellent service. Would love to stay again. Place is right smack in all the action, yet quiet and secluded. There are obviously many other hanok stays around, but this one was a good one, and certainly worth a try.

Two days before checkin, owner sent email asking to connect by Whatsapp etc. I did and it worked nicely to arrange arrival meetup and he sent useful maps showing direction from nearby hotel to the place. Our own research found a nearby upscale Kiwa restaurant with three levels. We went there thrice. Within walking distances of 15 minutes radius are many attractions and restaurants. Owner willing to answer questions by Whatsapp. On departure, he called taxi for us, waiting at the nearby hotel. The room is cozy, the floor is heated and toilet is nice. Wifi is great. A bit hard to sit on the floor for us but the floor chair with back is great. In the garden are nice patio chairs.

The absolute best way to have a close to as possible true traditional Korean experience is staying in Jeonju and Gaeunchae Hanok is incredibly clean, owned by a very nice, very honest man. You won't be disappointed.

Accomodation in the middle of Hanok Town
Very convenient to get to everything offered by the Jeonju Hanok Town. Very friendly owner explained the facilities of the accomodation and also suggested good place to have meal with reasonable price. Being the Hanok the accomodation is a bit tight but that is experience that anyone wants to get. A bit tricky place to find Please let the taxi driver to call the owner.
