Mango Sunset was the perfect option for my one-night stay after an evening landing in Kona before driving to the Hilo side of the island the next day. The room was immaculate and comfy, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, communication with staff was easy, and coffee and breakfast were excellent. I would love to stay at Mango Sunset again for multiple days!

Clean and comfortable room- Nice and helpful staff-Delicious breakfast- Easy parking- Quiet and Safe area/location. The entrance gate from the street to get in/out of the property parking is the only thing not my pleasant experience because you will have to get out of the car to open and close the gate manually every time rain or shine, day or night. Don’t forget to lock it! Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at Mango Sunset and would come back again to our next visit. Mahalo!

One of the most unique properties that we have stayed at. It was calming, serene and relaxing. Linda was incredibly kind and helpful and she made a delicious breakfast. Would recommend and would stay again.

This place has the best hosts! Heidi and Dan don’t just keep the rooms and premises immaculate, enjoyable and comfortable- they provide delicious breakfasts and great recommendations to places of all types in the island. Mango sunset has a beautiful view of the ocean while enjoying your breakfast, reading a book, or playing a Hawaiian guitar (a guitar was in our room)! We will definitely go back!

A peaceful escape overlooking Kona

Heidi and Dan were so kind, welcoming, and helpful! The location is secluded and quiet, and it offers a nice escape from the bustling town. We got a great dinner recommendation, and an amazing breakfast sourced primarily from the farm. We loved it!

I love how quiet the neighborhood was and surrounded by nature. The hosts were very commidating and helpful throughout our stay. They made sure we were comfortable and recommended us places to go to when we didn't have a plan for the day. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anybody who visits the island.

Best place to see sunsets

This was an amazing stay, and the breakfast was delightful! We could see the ocean and the oh so beautiful sunset from our room! Comfortable, inviting, and lively. We will certainly be back!

Our first stay at a B&B and will be difficult to go back to hotel rentals. Loved the personalized service, delicious breakfast, clean facilities and the small details included in our room. A quiet secluded property just 10min from the airport, though you will hear nature's relaxing sounds. Friendly owners and Innkeeper.

Lovely!

My husband and I decided to try the Mango Sunset after reading the rave reviews. We are so happy we did after experiencing this unique hideaway on a coffee plantation. Heidi and Dan were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. They were in contact with us as soon as we booked, providing clear and thorough directions pertaining to finding the property and check-in. After settling us in the immaculate and spacious suite Heidi gave us a helpful list of restaurants and activities throughout the island along with an easy to read map. Delicious breakfasts were served outside in the pristine garden l with jaw dripping views. Serene, safe and secluded, close to Kona airport and fabulous beaches... Highly recommend this property.

Nice stay!

No room cleaning during the whole stay. It could have done upon request but we were not awere. Great breakfast every day with the exceptional Lynne's service! Noise insulation is an issue. You can hear outside night insects as well as 4am roosters quite clear. Price was reasonable comparing to cost hotels. Overall good location. Peaceful atmosphere!

A Truly Special Stay at Mango Sunset Bed and Breakfast My recent stay at Mango Sunset Bed and Breakfast was nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to the incredible caregivers, Heidi and Dan. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. Each morning, we looked forward to breakfast with genuine excitement. Heidi’s cooking was not only delicious but also unique and thoughtfully prepared—it quickly became one of our favorite parts of the entire trip. You could truly taste the care she put into every dish. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the views—absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to that scenery each day felt like a dream. Heidi and Dan made sure we had everything we needed, checking in regularly and offering plenty of thoughtful recommendations for local spots and hidden gems. Their warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find hosts who are so genuinely kind and dedicated to their guests’ experience. This is a nice bed and breakfast located on a coffee farm in Kona. Janine made delicious breakfasts every day that we enjoyed with a beautiful view of the ocean. The communication was great. There is a phone number provided that you can text with any questions or updates to what time you will want breakfast the following day. Parking is very easy in a small lot close to the units. The room itself was also nice. There is a dehumidifier so that it stays comfortable especially since you most likely will keep the windows open due to no AC. It was pretty warm during our trip and we didn’t feel like we needed air conditioning at all. There’s only about 5 units so it feels very private and lowkey. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and we will be back next time we are visiting Kona.

This is a beautiful property on a hill overlooking a coffee farm with a view of the ocean in the distance. Heidi and Dan were outstanding hosts, available whenever we had any requests or questions, and if they didn't have an answer right away, they would look it up and get back to us pronto. They gave us a royal welcome at 10:30pm when we first arrived. And the 2 course gourmet breakfasts, absolutely out of this world! Every morning we had something different, cooked to utmost deliciousness. And unlimited quantities of fresh Kona coffee, which even this tea drinker enjoyed every morning.Even though it's just about 1/2 mi in from a main road, it is totally peaceful. I would do my daily breathing exercises in the fresh air every morning, and loved to sit out on the grass in front of our room in the evening. It's a perfect spot for stargazing, which I was thrilled to be able to do on a couple of the clear nights. The reason I didn't give a 5 star review, is the lack of appropriate signage when trying to find the driveway from the main road, especially at night. I would suggest 2 big signs on either side of the driveway with lighted letters so you can clearlysee the turnoff no matter what direction you're coming from. Also, the parking is inadequate for the number of rooms in the B&B. We were boxed in a couple of times when cars parked very close behind us. But aside from that, we had a completely wonderful stay and would like to stay there again if we go back to Kona.
