"The hotel was in a nice location, but they nickel and dime for everything. They charge for bags and to use the microwave due to not any being in the rooms. There was also a hidden $700 resort fee that I had to pay upon arrival. The pools were always crowded. Overall experience was okay."

"Although small, the room was clean. The bathroom was very small and had no ventilation. The parking price is insane — $50 per night. There is free street parking a couple of blocks away, or 2-hour paid parking if you are lucky enough to find an available spot. Breakfast was very good with plenty of different food options. It was very well organized so you don’t need to wait in a queue regardless of how many people are there. The staff were great. I forgot my quite expensive watch in the room and only found out about it when I arrived home. I called lost & found and they told me that they had it and could ship it right away. They took my credit card info and everything was perfectly fine. Thank you for being such honest people!"

"Not the same level of excellence I’m accustomed to at Embassy Suites. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Furniture was stiff. Didn’t make it to the Manager’s reception but breakfast was disappointing. No biscuits or gravy (maybe that’s southern states only?). The coffee was instant out of a machine, not good. "

"It was a beautiful six night seven days stay the atmosphere is amazing it is right in the middle of Waikiki and walkable to anything you needed to get to. The staff were amazing the room was clean and daily cleaned by housekeeping. The outdoor pool was on the 5th floor where the gym was and it's absolutely breathtaking fuse complimented the hotel as a whole"

"If you’ve experienced the level of hospitality at Halekulani Okinawa, I would honestly recommend reconsidering before booking Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii. In comparison, even Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani across the street offers a noticeably warmer and more genuine experience. What made this stay disappointing was not the property itself, but the overall service attitude throughout the hotel. Many of the Japanese and Asian staff members we encountered, from the breakfast buffet team, restaurant hosts, front desk staff, valet, to housekeeping, came across as consistently cold, distant, and unwelcoming. Smiles often felt forced rather than sincere, and interactions lacked the warmth and attentiveness expected from a hotel at this price point. To be fair, some of the local Hawaiian and Caucasian staff members were genuinely kind and welcoming, and their hospitality stood out in a positive way. Unfortunately, those experiences were overshadowed by the overall atmosphere we felt during the stay. We chose this hotel because we had such a wonderful impression of Halekulani Okinawa and expected the same standard of hospitality associated with the brand. Sadly, the experience in Hawaii did not reflect that at all. By the end of the trip, it left us feeling that we would not return in the future. In hindsight, we truly wish we had stayed at The Kahala Hotel & Resort instead. Very disappointing overall."
