“It’s the perfect stay to stop just off the M6 when driving from Scotland to England. It’s a beautifully decorated pub, with lovely staff and excellent breakfast and dinner. This time our ferry was cancelled from Mull and so we had to change the booking at the last moment. They were understanding and there was no problem rolling over the booking until we could get off the island. We will be forever loyal to this wonderful stop just south of Penrith. ”

“Lovely hotel / inn with huge stylish bedrooms and fantastic bar with open fire. Food (fresh pizza) was amazing - some really interesting flavours. Breakfast fresh and very hearty. Highly recommended! Can’t remember the last time I went to a hotel this good.”

“comfortable room in a great location. we did not eat at their restaurant, but everybody we met in town recommended eating there... particularly good steaks apparently. We will eat there the next time we stay there.”

“Car park was full in the evening so had to park in a lay-by nearby. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. We were in a top floor room with a very low ceiling that could do with some padding on the corners as it was a safety hazard.”

“Breakfast at the white hart was excellent with a good choice, service was also excellent. Good choice of ales at the bar with the food being exceptional, best in Hawes. Rooms lovely and roomy with plenty of hot drink choices also bottles of water. Bathroom very clean with good shower. In a nutshell we couldn't have got better in Hawes.”
