Marshall Point Lighthouse is located near the fishing village of Port Clyde, Maine. The Lighthouse property includes the wonderful light, connected via the long wooden runway to the property, a lovingly-restored Keeperโ€™s House, as well as welcoming grounds and complimenting gardens. In The Keeperโ€™s House, there is an extensive museum housing exhibits centered on the lighthouse as well as a historic look into the industries and life on our peninsula. As an interesting detail, in the movie โ€œForest Gumpโ€ Tom Hanks concluded his long run on the lighthouse runway. Chartered a private wooden sailboat for 3 hrs. Best part of our trip up and down the Maine Coast. Camden is a nice protected harbor to sail out of but unlike the SW Coast of Lake Michigan, there are quite a few submerged and visible rocks to watch out for! It was a bit chili as you can see my wife all bundled up. I of course had a sweatshirt on with shorts and my sandals ๐Ÿ˜Ž
