"Actually good value if you accept the tatami style bedding. Only problem is that going out of the room to the shared toilets and showers can be freezing as the common areas are not yeated. The property is tucked up in the mountains, and it was magical to gaze at the magnificent view while soaking in the rotemburo (outdoor bath). "Staff were great, especially Yoko as she spoke English and was able to help with requests. One source of stress was having to pay in cash if you elect to pay at the accommodation. This should be made clear when booking. We would have happily paid by credit card in advance had it been made clear. No one from overseas carries that kind of cash. The ryokan should be encouraged to adjust their "rule" and take credit cards."

"The accommodation was better than expected. The internal balcony made the room more usable and it felt larger than we expected. It was lovely to sit on the balcony to unwind and look at the view. The private dining experience (i think this is standard for those choosing the 1/2 board option) was a highlight. Course after course delughted us. The wait staff were excellent, very attentive and explained things well to us. Their patience was amazing, given our poor to non existent Japanese. It is styled as a health retreat with menus chosen to be healthy and it has facilities such as the very pleasant onsen. highly recommend a stay here."
