"What a fantastic & unique stay! I loved the idea of being able to stay in surroundings that make this town so
The staff are exceptionally friendly & took plenty of time to explain the area & give recommendations which were exceptional! The location is fantastic! A close walk to the old town but also close enough to the outskirts that make parking easy. Great stay! Can’t recommend this place enough! "

"This is a lovely boutique hotel that is newly renovated to take advantage of the unique caves in Matera. There is a beautiful view over the gorge. We spent 3 nights here and the lovely owner spent time with us each day curating a perfect itinerary for seeing Matera. There was free parking nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was good. It’s about a 10 min walk into the main part of town, but it’s nice to be on the edge with the view and it’s super quiet. "

"Very convenient for a visit to Matera, with free parking space, lovingly furnished. Stefania saw to all our needs, she even provided us with a packed lunch, so we didn´t go hungry when strolling through the town and on our way home."

"Basiliani Hotel is truly a fantastic boutique gem! The location is perfect — close to everything yet peaceful enough to fully relax and soak in the atmosphere. The staff make all the difference: warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make your stay exceptional. Every detail feels thoughtfully curated, from the beautiful decor to the welcoming ambience. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming, comfortable, and memorable stay!"
"We had a great stay, all the staff were very polite and attentive, answered all our questions about the area and also very informative about the food and wines they were serving, we were very pleasantly with the service the location and the condition of the hotel, unfortunately we were not there long enough to sample the spa but did get a tour from the young lady at the spas reception who explained everything. A wonderful experience cant fault it."
"Spacious cave room with a nice bathroom within walking distance of everything. An excellent breakfast. Remember that you can’t park here and must park outside of the zone on the street. Matera is amazing."
