Better avoid rude staff. Book with free breakfast when we arrive ask us to pay more. When give them the evidence they ask us to print out !!
Bedding is always humid and smell is awful. Water is yellow to brown and WiFi is none.
Low grade low service mind. Avoidddd!!!
I did not like the smell of the place, dirty carpet and drying towels same stuff for breakfast everyday no wash cloths, out dated furniture! And the did not honor my late checkout
This review is for the Festac town Golden tulip only and may not be applicable to the other locations. Just FYI for whoever is booking the Golden tulip Festac hotel from outside of Nigeria: this is an old hotel. Rugs, beds and showers are from the 70's so expect choking stale smell from the rugs in the rooms and corridors, 'unsleep-able" beds, and hard to operate showers. Plus even if u reserve a room for two guests, only one will get a complimentary breakfast, and the other guest will fast. I reserved several rooms and couldnt cancel them when I got to the hotel, so I had to go shopping for a new hotel with my money locked away at GoldenTulip. Plus you got to get a parking slip each time u drive in and out even if it's 2million times a day. Staff are cool though.
Air conditioners were not working. There was no compensation for this. Some of the staff were nice, the duty manager was nice, but the lady at the reception was only interested in asking me to pay extra for the room. They provided fans which were old and very noisy!
Horrible stay! Never again!
Terrible! Took over 2 hours at the reception waiting as the air conditioner was not cooling! Booked online and paid in US dollars, wanted to be on same floor as group had to pay an additional Naira 20,000. Given an exorbitant rate of exchange. Given a room with a fan that was so loud items impossible to sleep!
Dank smell on the floor, dirty carpets, blocked sink, mildewed bathroom, dirty grouting, no access to CNN, BBC World.
I spent one night with my family. It was a delightful experience for the whole family. My children really enjoyed the pool and the cinema. The food was also great especially the sunday buffet. All in all, we had a lovely experience
This Hotel is a miserable excuse of a hotel. Yes, the pool was nice. The service was NOT consistently good. The hotel and city does not accept your credit cards. They want cash, and thieves and beggars are everywhere. This hotel is NOT safe. I saw a violent, out of control customer at counter. No security staff came to help until I summoned them to front desk. Female guests sexually harrassed by man in car at front drive. I summoned security officers, who did nothing. Supervisor security officer said that crime and harrassment, bad behavior of men in surrounding area, not hotel property, was not their concern. Security officers across, at store, begged for money, harrassed us, and acted crazy. Men loitered at surrounding area. If you dare go, take cash, convert it to Nigerian money- because the cards are next accepted much of the time. Be careful of your money, your family, your life. Because this hotel does not care (although they will will create a mirage of safety). Also, the water is light brown.
The location is excellent.
The rugs in the room and lobby were dirty and a smell.
The A/C in the hotel was ineffective and food was nothing to write home about.
A very forgettable stay!
I like the two afternoons listening to live music. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I also felt safe with the security on lobby and on floor i was staying. I didn't like electricity going off or water but it came back fast. Oh I like how my room was clean every day.
I enjoyed every bit of my stay! Staffs were nice, property was clean, secure and accessible. I recommend this hotel for anyone who has family and needs a peaceful holiday.
They also have different activities in and around the facility for any age group.
In nutshell, All you need is a visit and the saying goes, a visit will convince you period!
The hotel is run down and not fit for purpose. The air conditioning is not working, bathroom was dirty and the rugs on hallway smelt of damp. No airconditioner in the lift. Customer service was 0 out of 10. The night duty manager Mr Austin had no clue about customer services and needs re-training as was extremely rude that a scene was created . The condition of the hotel was so terrible that we could not even spend a night there. The hotel should be shut down. It is absolutely disgraceful!!!! Compared to the last time I visited it 3yrs ago
The cleanliness of the hotel isn't up to 4 star standard. Their internet is always down and not unreliable. Not all their staff cleaner are trained to 4 star standard.
This property is in need of major renovations. The carpets are dirty and the AC system is in need of major repair andhas caused mold in the residence rooms. The smell is awful. I walked past security guards on the floors who were asleep and never heard me going or coming.
Convenient restaurant but buffet only. It gets tired after a day or two.
The Hotel should invest in the condition, renovate some parts over there, cause there are some other hotels in a better condition for same price.
But very friendly helpfully staffs what makes us to spend our second time over there.
All in all the prize to the quality is still ok.
Didn’t like much. Things that need addressing are:
1. Fix the electricity switchover issues
2. AIr conditioner in bad condition
3. How can a hotel have no fridge
4. Internet surf speed was really bad
5. Who’s heard of a hotel gym closing at 5pm
6. Even the safe for keeping valuables dosent work
The only good thing out of this trip was that the workers looked okay. But that was overshadowed by the terrible amenities. Golden tulip Festac Nigeria has a long way to go. This is by far one of the worst hotels I have been to.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The facility is old, the towels were so bad, a blocked sink , and to top the disappointment, the bed was creaking, funny right? I only stayed for one night and left for a better place. Cheap is indeed expensive
The receptionist are not well trained to professional level. The bookings was paid online but yet trying to tell me that I haven’t paid. Something repeated when checking out.
