"Beautiful houses in a rural setting. I rented the apartment downstairs. It has a great little kitchen and a comfortable bedroom. The patio has stunning views of Sao Jorge Island, and when you look up at night all you see is stars. Peaceful setting. The owner, Laura, is kind and welcoming. "Our hosts Fatima and George were the best hosts we have ever had in many VRBO experiences. There was a fresh baked cake, basket of cheese, basket of fruit, basket of bread/biscuits and a bottle of wine waiting on the dining room table when we arrived. The patio off of the house was a fantastic private setting for evening wine and cheese. The old basalt cottage was impeccable, it looked brand new as if we were the first to occupy!"
