Uncompagre Peak 14,309’ is located just west of Lake City CO, it’s neighbor Wetterhorn Peak 14,015’ make and epic fall trip. It’s possible to drive 4wd to both trailheads and cut across country between the peaks for an epic day in the high country. Be aware that Wetterhorn has severe exposure and it’s required that you have some climbing ability to reach the summit.
