"A functional hotel conveniently situated opposite Lausanne railway station and 40 yards from the metro entrance. The complimentary transport card that is provided allows easy access up to the old town (2 stops) and down to the lakeside (4 stops).
My room facing the station (currently undergoing major expansion) was compact and reasonably comfortable, with a notably high pressure shower.
The station surroundings are typically unprepossessing but the attractive parts of the town are not far distant."
"The hotel is very conveniently located next to the metro but it was a four minute downhill walk from the train station. It was also a very fast few minutes walk down to Ouchy and the lake. A few steps away was a cafe and a Migros market. The room was very nicely decorated and had a fridge and equipment for making coffee. It was quiet at night. Within two to four blocks there were many great cafes and restaurants to choose from. We loved Cafe Grancy and the Sleepy Bear cafe had great coffee and croissants. The staff of the Carlton were exceptional! Very efficient check in and very thorough on information. Really appreciated that. They also gave us free transit travel cards and it was very easy to get around. I would stay here again and recommend it to others without hesitation"
"This is a first class hotel, situated conveniently near the Ouchy stop on the tram, along Lake Geneva. My room was newly renovated and thoughtfully appointed. Some of the digital conveniences (shades, thermostat) were a little baffling, but the room has a lovely desk and large wardrobe and wonderful for business and leisure travelers. The staff was impeccable, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. I can’t wait to stay there again."
