"Very dated hotel. It’s clean and the staff are polite. The bar had run out of tapped beer and snacks. Not only that it shut before midnight including residents. Barman did give me a free short to compensate but a group of friends meeting up would have happily sat there until late! Breakfast was decent, a little limited. Cooked offering was tasty. My room was a single and very small but got the job done."

"We had a mixed experience at Chilworth Manor, but the staff really made the difference. Initially, we were checked into a very small, basic room. The walls were in need of a fresh coat of paint and it felt quite tired. To make things difficult, we were placed right next to a couple with two dogs—which wasn’t ideal as we were staying with a baby. Thankfully, the staff were lovely when we raised our concerns. They were very understanding and moved us to a larger room, which we really appreciated. It made the rest of our stay far more comfortable. The hotel has a nice bar area with a good atmosphere. We also enjoyed using the pool; however, it’s worth noting that it seems to be run as a separate business rather than being exclusive to the hotel. It was quite busy during our visit because of children's swimming lessons taking up a lane alongside the regular swimmers, but it was still a nice facility to have access to."

"Unfortunately we solely chose this hotel to enjoy the pool for our son’s first swim. We have a 2 month old and a 2 year old. Having previously stayed at the Grand in Eastbourne the pool temperature had been brilliant for young children and imagined this would be similar. When we got in the pool it felt very cool, I asked the staff member if the temp could be turned up and we were informed the boiler was broken. It was too cold for our 2 month old to safely enjoy. The next morning we returned with our 2 year old for a swim in a thermal swim outfit so she could stay in longer but the pool was even colder! Despite essentially having a wetsuit on she didn’t last long on the pool and we had to leave. It was really disappointing we weren’t notified of this in advance as we simply would not have spent the money on this stay without being able to use the pool. It was an early Mother’s Day treat for me and it was ruined a bit by this and the poor service we received at dinner (feedback sent separately). We had expected a lot more…"

"Hotel needs a refurb. We upgraded to superior room but carpet was badly stained. Bathroom needs upgrading. Basic breakfast "

"Nice spa, nice renovations, shame the steam room wasn't working. The mens showers were cold. But other than that this was a nice hotel experience. The bedroom was a little small but well kept. The bar area and restaurant was well appointed and you can see nice refurbishment work had happened. The breakfast was excellent and worth the money. The location was quite good to access town with a short walk."

"This was a great hotel for our family weekend away to Paultons Park. The Reception staff were 5 star ... others we encountered around the hotel were fine but not to the same standard as the front of house Gentleman who checked us in. The hotel is clean and the breakfast standard was good but they seemed to run out of food very quickly and it took quite a while to replenish. The bar is a bit lacking in variety but it was fine for a quick drink. We had dinner at a pub called The Farmers House (outstanding food and service) so cannot comment on dinner but the menu looked fine and not overly priced. We went to the pool between 5pm and 6.30pm. It was very busy but the kids loved it. Overall an enjoyable stay and we would book again. "
