"Lovely hotel but they need drawers and a proper bedside table and also need to allow guests to change air-con in their room as it would only go to 16 degrees and was on a low fan so we were still hot in our room, this was during the heatwave! They need to make sure that housekeepers or people dealing with function rooms do not start hoovering at 8.15am!! As this woke us up. The staff were very helpful though and the hotel is lovely, bar has a happy hour and so nice cocktails and bar staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location by train station convenient to centre."

"Great location right next to the train station and not far to walk to shops and restaurans. Friendly staff. Room is spacious and was ideal as it had a fridge and air con and the temp was 30 degrees outside so we got to go back and relax in the room with the air con. Stayed here a few times now and would highly recommend."

"The hotel and the hotel staff were excellent. It was a really nice touch to be welcomed in reception with a cold drink on one of the hottest days the UK has seen. The hotel is in an ideal central location close to the railway station, shop and restaurants. The room was good everything working perfectly, really good big screen tv for the football My review would have scored the hotel much, much higher but my problem was the Gino D'Acampo restaurant attached to the hotel, this guy is supposed to be a top notch chef, he needs to do more than just put his name to an expensive restaurant. The food was dreadful: bland arancini with a back ground taste of cleaning fluid, carbonara pasta with curdled eggs, tomato and mozzarella salad with poor acidic tomatoes. Slow off hand service from the staff. On complaining about the food and the service, we were eventually given a reduction in the bill but honestly if a customer complains about the food and you don't even ask what was wrong with it! The Marriott need to part company with this restaurant."
