"One of the reasons we booked this hotel is because it has a pool, however, the pool is quite warm, like a bath, not just "heated" to keep it from being too cold. So if you are expecting a cool, refreshing dip at the end of a hot day, you may be disappointed. Having said that, we gave them feedback and there is a chance they will rectify the issue. I decided to make the most of it and used it at the end of each day, since the air would cool me down after getting out. The beds and linens were super-comfortable and the general energy of the place is serene. There IS filtered water (safe to drink) available in the lobby, so that you can refill your water bottles. Not all hotels in Mexico offer this. One thing that would improve this hotel is having a simple cafe on site, that offers coffee, juice, muffins/pastries, sandwiches/salads, wine, beer, etc. And, finally, the rooms (or at least our room) was lacking hooks, and places to hang things. There was also insufficient lighting in the little kitchenette...which had a mini-fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker...but no plates or utensils. A few small improvements would make a big difference, in my opinion. "

"We had a wonderful stay at Akoma San Pancho! They kindly allowed us to check in early, which was super convenient because we didn’t have to carry our luggage around while exploring the market. The house has a lovely little courtyard where we could cook and enjoy our meals. Great value for the price – highly recommended!"

" Rosewood Mandarina is undeniably a stunning property. The setting is breathtaking, with lush grounds, beautiful beaches, and thoughtfully designed rooms that feel both luxurious and serene. The accommodations were a highlight—spacious, well-appointed, and seamlessly integrated into the natural surroundings. That said, the overall experience was mixed. While the service was good, it lacked consistency and didn’t always meet the level one would expect at this price point. The dining was also just okay—pleasant, but not particularly memorable compared to other properties of this caliber. We enjoyed certain activities, particularly the polo experience, which was a standout. However, other offerings such as the hiking and meditation experiences felt underwhelming and not especially well executed. Our stay took an unexpected turn when we were unable to leave due to a cartel safety situation, requiring us to extend our stay by five additional days. While the team did their best under difficult circumstances and graciously comped one night, we felt there could have been more proactive guidance—particularly from the concierge—around support options such as travel insurance or alternative arrangements, given the significant added expense.
