"The room looked dinghy when I got in but figured it was the soft white lights they use which gives everything a yellow tint.
The A/C didn’t work well and just blew air around, didn’t blow out cold air. Fortunately it was chilly outside and the windows open. Fan air was warmer than outside air.
Bathroom was gross. Floor grout was dirty and it smelled like a young boy’s bathroom. I used towels to mop up some of the dirt and possible pee and put additional ones to walk on as I didn’t want my clean feet touching a dirty floor.
Breakfast was very limited and bananas were green, almost decorative. After the dirty bathroom I really didn’t feel like eating anything from there anyway.
The hotel needs an update or at least a good, thorough cleaning.
Bed was clean and comfortable though so there’s that."
"Relaxing retreat overlooking Cayuga Lake. Beautiful drive along Gorge Rd to the fall’s trails. Serene setting with the scent of lilac in the air. Sounds of birds chirping, water fountains flowing, and light jazz playing in the evening. Nightly fires outside the Inn to sit and relax after a lovely day at Cayuga Lake and the surrounding areas. Watching the sunrise from our balcony was delightful."
"The room smelled bad, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, and I found bugs in the room even though the doors and windows were kept closed. Overall, the cleanliness and upkeep were below expectations."
The Falls Motel - 2 Mi to " Watkins Glen State Park, Seneca Lake " AND 4 Mi to Watkins Glen International Track " The Glen "
8/10 Good
"The proximity to Watkins Glen was exceptional. We were able to get to the Watkins State Park is just about five minutes. Where we were able to enjoy our hike and visit to the lake water front and downtown area.
The staff was helpful, we stayed two nights, the staff cleaned the room while we were away and provided us with extra towels. Parking was plentiful and the property was quiet in the evening. We were offered coffee, fruit, and muffins in the morning as a breakfast snack.
Front desk is available until the late evening to help you check in.
Overall we had a very comfortable stay."
"The room was newly renovated. We had a private balcony looking out over the lake. Beautiful!
Dinner at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The chef checking in with us personally. We will definitely return to this gem."
"We had stayed here last year and loved it but it didn't quite meet expectations this time. The caulking in the bathroom was peeling and flaking along the sink which made me wonder how clean it actually was. Plus the two floor tiles right in front of the bathtub were broken and kept sinking whenever we stepped on them to get into the shower. Our toilet also wasn't fully flushing and we had to borrow a plunger and use it every couple of uses. The room also had an odour and I haven't experienced this in most of the hotels we've stayed at all spring. Other than that, the breakfast was decent and we were always able to find parking which isn't always the case at hotels in the Rochester area."
"The staff members were friendly and accommodating. the free bottle of wine was very nice as was the complimentary wine tasting. However, the wine tasting samples were extremely skimpy...barely a taste! The facility could use some updating and minor repairs."
"This was, without a doubt, the most bizarre and worst experience that I have had at a hotel.
I was traveling with my girlfriend after a long, stormy road trip. We are not fussy people and would have been happy with a fairly clean, safe room. We received neither. We walk in to our room after a long road trip and see that half of the window is missing and there were no curtains. They had attempted to cover the window with a piece of cardboard and some tape. We attempted to turn on the heating system, which would not heat up the room. Immediately across from us are huge windows of the building next door.
When we go down to the front desk to try to get the curtains or a room change. We mentioned that we are a gay couple who are unfamiliar with the area and feel very unsafe without curtains. The attendant was unable to help and did not offer a room change to us.
As we returned to the room, we noticed large strands of hair across the bathroom floor and in the shower. No attempt had been made to clean it. We tried to turn the shower on and the handle crashed to the ground. When confronted with these issues, the manager attempted to scam me with a sketchy "all-expense" paid trip to the Dominican Republic via text message. With no curtains, no heat, no clean bathroom, and unprofessional management, this was a horror stay. For your safety, stay far, FAR away."
