Possitive: Value for money, good location, quite area, good sea view from our room, staff are very helpfull and kind, free pickup/drop off from/to the ship port, very clean, free usage of sea towels, 24/7 reception,shops near the hotel. Negative: Wifi have very bad signal and is very slow, poor breakfast, mosque is behind the hotel, no elevator in the hotel We had a very good stay in Velana hotel. I suggest the hotel.

A great modestly priced hotel on the quiet side.

This is a great hotel on the quiet side of Maafushi. A 3-5 minute walk from anywhere you’d want to be. For the price, it is a great value. Clean, comfortable, friendly, and modern. The areas it lacked were the breakfast which was limited and only fair quality food. Also the in-room wifi was unreliable at times. Aside from these two items, zero complaints. The transfer from Male airport was fast and easy, and the rest of my stay was fantastic.

Worst hotel in maldives. I highly recommend you avoid this hotel as their manager has no customer servixe skills and the food is terrible and nothing in room works. Avoid at all costs. Expressed to the manager our dissatisfaction and he said”ok thank you”.

Deja mucho que desear.

Deja mucho que desear: no wi-fi en habitaciones, no elevador, no toallas extra, descuidado y sucio (tengo fotos). Últimos 3 días sin agua caliente. Tiene excelentes reseñas, que no entiendo porqué hicieron. La amabilidad de los que atienden es muchísima y se agradece (son un encanto) pero no compensa los defectos del hotel. La habitación no se parece en nada a las fotos y la limpieza y el cuidado en general (puertas, paredes, muebles) dejan mucho que desear. Día 1, la caja de seguridad cerrada.. una hora después por fin, sube el gerente a abrirla. Reporto que no hay wifi en mi habitación y básicamente responde que así es. Ninguna de las lámparas laterales funciona. Mandan a alguien a cambiar los focos. Cambiaron al gerente. Mismo reporte al nuevo gerente acerca de la falta de wifi…dice que lo va a arreglar… 7 días después.. ¡sin wifi aún! 5 días después de mi llegada, regreso de una excursión y no hay agua caliente en la regadera. Lo paso por alto, pues venía algo acalorada..Para mi último día en el hotel (día 7) aún sin agua caliente. El nuevo gerente, muy amable, explica por qué es complicado arreglar cosas ¡que deberían estar bien siempre! Y ojo: hay dos edificios (luego me enteré Velana Beach (en el que según yo, reservé) y Velana Blue (en el que me hospedaron).. Buen desayuno del que repiten menú cada tres días, si estás más, ya sabes qué vas a desayunar.

Alojamiento bien ubicado cerca de la bikini beach, solo hay que recorrer una calle y un poquito mas. Tienen distintos packs de actividades para hacer, pero como en toda la isla. Hicimos media pension y la verdad es que solo fuimos a cenar 2 dias de los 10 que nos alojamis, a nosotros no nos gusto la comida del hotel. Por lo demas, las instalaciones estaban bien, un hotel normal y el servicio excelente.

I had a sea view room which is so nice, the hotel is very near to the local beach, has good restaurant with variety of food, and lovely outdoor setting. The room was clean, but the water pressure was quite low. The staff was very friendly, smiley, and helpful. The bikini beach is quite far, and I wish there was a table in the balcony. However, I had so nice and so good time in my holiday. Generally, Maafushi has many exiting sea activities, I liked everything there.

Great place

Had a great time in Velana. Staff is super friendly and personable. Hotel is new and clean. On the quieter side of the island with a fantastic view. If you go, don't forget to feed the Skinny Cat.
