Madeira Island, Portugal hotel rooms at the Palace Resorts

"Just back from 4 nights in this wonderful hotel. It is located right in the heart of Old Town Funchal, a block from the Cathedral, two blocks from the waterfront and near several great restaurants. Even though the hotel is in the middle of a pedestrian area, our room was very quiet. We had a junior suite and it was excellent value, with a large room, spacious walk-in shower, fluffy towels and bathroom amenities. Our rate included a full breakfast buffet, cooked-to-order eggs and pancakes. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. There is also a nice restaurant for lunch and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating and a rooftop bar. I would definitely stay again at this property."
