Rooms are clean but some basic double bedrooms are super small. The bathrooms are nice and big though. Since youre in a tourist hotel, you will pay tourist prices. Staff is sweet. Daily housekeeping is good.

Hot tub was not heated! Pool was too cold to go in, but the weather was chilly so we wouldn’t have wanted to go in anyways. The breakfast was great. Excellent selection of fresh fruits, bakery, eggs, yogurt. There are no amenities in the room. No ice bucket, snacks, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Shower was very small and the bed was shot on one side, the other side of the bed was comfortable. No furniture on patio view of the ocean. We traveled very far to visit Madeira and these accommodations fell short for us unfortunately.

The staff were exceptional. Front desk upon my arrival made me feel very welcome! The staff were friendly and approachable. One was always singing, and actually had a great voice. A lot to do on the property and close to downtown Funchal by walk or by taxi if walking isn’t your thing.

EXCELLENT STAY! Just wish that our flight was not canceled upon arrival due to the HISTORIC, COUNTRYWIDE BLACKOUT that took place on April 28, 2025 in Portugal (as well as Spain) for over 12 hours. The next flight to Funchal, Madeira was not available until 2 days later as we lost 2 nights. Regardless, EXCELLENT STAFF, EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!! THANK YOU!!

We had an amazing stay. Our room was super clean and spacious, and the subtropical garden was absolutely beautiful. The property was so peaceful and quiet, and the staff was incredibly attentive. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

The hotel was very dated. The parking situation was horrible (lot to the side that the passenger would have get out to push the button to open each time you would enter or exit). The breakfast is an additional charge each day, and although I did not eat (I had a cup of coffee), I was charged for a full meal. Even checking out was hell - would not recommend this property.

We celebrated my daughters birthday and enjoyed the whole stay. Staff was always friendly. Room was very spacious and always cleaned early. I wish the hotel didn’t promote smoking by the pool. We did not enjoy being surrounded by people freely smoking on their chairs and inhaling the smoke all day long in the heat. There should be a smoking area. Otherwise we highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, the hotel was decent, but our room was very humid, even with the air conditioning on. The room didn’t look much like the photos shown on Expedia, which was a bit disappointing. It was generally clean, but we had a major issue with ants in the room, especially around the area where we kept our luggage, which made the stay less pleasant. The fridge wasn’t working and had a strong unpleasant smell. On the positive side, the breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety every morning. However, dinner wasn’t worth it, it was quite expensive for cold pasta served buffet-style, with very little service. The parking was convenient and worth the small extra fee, although the spaces were quite narrow.
