The property is very well located so you can get to landmarks by walking just a few minutes and you can also take public transport from the Sol station.nearby. The room was very spacious for one person too. Some negative aspects for me were that the breakfast is not too varied, I found a couple of hairs in the bathroom when I arrived and in order to use the safe you need a one euro coin which is strange and you can't recover it afterwards. Im general the staff were friendly and helpful.

Location was excellent, walking distance to almost everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was older but clean. Breakfast simple continental but definitely a good start to the day. Warning… area is extremely loud. Especially if you are in the rooms facing the street with balcony. All night people out partying. Bring ear plugs or headphones if you need quiet to sleep. Would still recommend.

The location is amazing, in the heart of Madrid. We first had a room with broken a/c which was unbearable at 35C but they switched us right away and were very nice.

We had a great stay at Hotel Ateneo. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Madrid and walking distance to everything. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and a solid value for the area. Being so central, there’s a bit of street noise at times, but nothing unexpected for Puerta del Sol. Overall, a very good stay and a hotel we’d happily return to.
