"Hotel Villa Real is definitely very beautiful. One of my favorite rooms! The hotel property itself is on an interesting area; there was a commotion like a protest or something going on every morning lol. But I loved that it was a close walk to the Prado Museum and public transport. Breakfast was… okay. Not many choices but it was modest. I had a balcony and I appreciated the views of the front snd especially the sunsets. Checking in and checking out was very easy. "

"The property is listed on Hotels dot com as having an airport transfer. That almost always means it's free. With this hotel that is not the case. You coordinate with them in advance regarding which level of service you'd like and pay them directly. The hotel then pays the provider. Our driver was great and so was his service; I have no complaints. But they should tell us upfront before we book the room that there's a cost.
