Stay was great, relatively relaxing and plenty of space inside the room.
If you’re only looking for a place to sleep and do activities outside during the day, I would highly recommend. Other than a small pool, there is really nothing to do.
I guess my only concern was it was a bit hard to locate as it didn’t have huge signs like other hotels nearby.
The property is very quaint, the rooms are large and fit our family of 6 just fine. The staff is great, the pool is amazing, and the views of the beautiful trees and wildlife were top notch. Each day a family of macaws would fly over the hotel while we were eating breakfast, it was breathtakingly beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel.
Nice little place to just rest and sleep. It's not too far from from the national park and beaches. The only bad thing is there is no eating places around for lunch and dinner. If you rented a car or motorcycle, it's fine.
Really nice looking place. Very good for the price. Location is good if you plan to go to Manuel Antonio and Quepos but it is very hilly. Note that you cannot have guests. Other than that no complaints.
Staff mainly spoke Spanish. Very helpful and kind staff. Close to road. Breakfast was good. Pool was nice. Air conditioning worked well. Blow dryer in bathroom.
We had a quite decent and comfortable stay there. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and warm. Kids had lot of fun there. Breakfast was fresh , but bit pricy. The room were ok. Had some bugs creeping in , but the rooms were very neat and clean. Very nice location . Everything is nearby.
Very nice place and the staff let us use their kitchen plates and knives. Very kind. The pool was delightful and the area perfect for a visit to Manual Antonio and to go whale watching. Only request to oil the hinges of the bathroom door and attach the shower handle more securely.
Very pleasant place and we had a great time where we felt right at home.
We stayed in Room #1 and there was loads of space. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great. The staff were extremely helpful and the security of the hotel was comforting (an additional gate that you receive a key for). The only issue I had, which I think is specific to Room #1, is that the breakfast tables (which you can also use throughout the day) are directly outside one side of the room, so you can hear staff setting up and guests' conversations early in the morning. That said, I would definitely stay again.
We appreciated our Stay at Colibrí. The room and surrounding areas were kept very clean. The pool is beautiful and there is a poolside bar that is open in the afternoon. Breakfasts are available for an additional cost. Owners and staff were very nice. One thing to note is that check in is by 8 p.m. or you need to make prior arrangements for staff to stay later. The only issue we had was that our window opened up to the reception desk so we felt awkward having the curtain open. That was a room specific issue though. We would stay here again!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Overall a good value. Great location and nice pool area. Mini fridge and AC in room worked well. Cleanliness was good. Some things to note: most staff only speak Spanish so communication could be challenging. They are nice and friendly though. Seating area outside is nice. There was some issue with the correct room (I booked a room with two beds but they gave me a room with just one) but they quickly resolved the issue. Again a good value - I would consider staying again.
The hotel was well run by a dedicated group of people. They were very polite and attentive. The room was clean and nice. We especially enjoyed the monkeys that were hanging around. There was a tropp of howler monkeys that were constantly in a tree across the road that woke us up at dawn like a rooster does, which was neat for us. One night, while our kids were swimming and playing in the well maintained and clean pool, and we were having drinks made up by their bartender next to the pool, a group of squirrel monkeys stopped by the pool to the delight of everybody at the pool.
Also, location was great. About a 15 minute drive to El Avion Bar (awesome) and Manuel Antonio Park (eastern beach is the best).
This property is a small family run business . All the people who worked there really tried hard to make everything great. I was not feeling good with a flue stomach and was hoping for fresh food and they always seemed to find it for me. They helped with a booking tour and pointed out some animals. The pool was clean and refreshing. The only thing I could say that the curtains on the big windows where a little bit of a challenge to cover everything or get into the door and the lounge chairs looked a little bit on the run down side but in all we had a great time and would book this hotel any day:)

Disliked: Amenities
It was so clean! It had a few places nearby to eat. It had no televisions in the rooms, And sometimes no staff around. It had breakfast if you pay, but staff would avoid you if you didn’t speak Spanish at breakfast. I would recommend Mimos 300 meters away with a restaurant, staff, and bar. I would go there to get drinks and get dinner. Also no eating or drinking I’m the rooms, and no microwave. When our shower heater shorted out, they were quick to fix it though!
Hotel was clean and staff are very helpful and friendly. We got the orange room with a King and Queen. AC is above the queen bed so we had to put it on high to keep the room cool for the couple in the King bed but they had a ceiling fan so it wasn’t too bad.
Because of the mountainous roads the parking is tough but we realized all locals are very used to coming up around a hill on a corner and stopping on a dime! If someone in your party has trouble with stairs I would not recommend this place because the stairs are steep and there are not handrails on all of the stairs. I accidentally booked for two people and didn’t realize it is an extra $20 per night for a third person.
Great place for the price and would stay again.

Colibri is not luxurious. Place was clean. Air conditioning good.We booked last minute and didn"t realize they have limited desk hours. Show up at 2 pm, you'll get your room, before 2 pm the place is a literal ghost town. You need to use your translator app if not fluent in Spanish. The problems with checkin and checkout were due to the language barrier. If you are an older traveler and prefer handrails, do not stay here! Colibri has 2 sets of trecherous stone steps with no handrails. The condition of the steps is very unsafe. They were able to do our laundry within a few hours which was a good thing. The lower rating is due to extreme safety concerns. I should have taken a closer look at the property's pictures. Thanks, had a decent night's sleep.
The hotel is adjacent to a busy road with car park just off the road. The hotel is accessed by a series of steep, very uneven, steps not suitable for the less than agile with large suitcases.
No english spoken at reception but google translate useful. Room was ok but the window looked out on a vertical wall less than a metre away so no view at all. Pool was very pleasant with chairs and loungers but noisy due to the road. Honesty fridge with water and beer but was rather expensive (Beer C2500, supermarket price C950). Running water supply failed for a while but came back later.
Requests for additional items, eg extra pillows, fried eggs for breakfast, seemingly accepted but did not actually appear. (I did think breakfast was included but it was charged at $US 8 each per breakfast.)
Frequent bus service (30 min intervals) stop nearby, recommend for going to Park Manuel Antonio and also Quepos town at C380 pp. Hotel Restaurant Mono Azul short walk direction Quepos, for dinner.
