"We truly enjoyed this resort,and would book again (in the winter). The Expedia check in was AMAZING, we showed up to a lobby jam packed but very happy when we found out that we had a separate check in because we booked with Expedia. Our beautiful clean room had the best air-conditioning I have EVER felt in my life. The fact that the kids pool was completely separate from the adult pool was perfect for my husband and I as this is where we spent 90% of our time. Loved the infinity pool, it was like we were on the beach without actually being on the beach. The buffet food was "acceptable" no thrills, no over the top...just good. We did take advantage of the specialty dinners that were VERY GOOD. However booking the dinners, was not without it's challenges. Thanks to the helpful staff, we were finally able to figure it out. The sky bar was really nice and the staff were very attentive. Here are the drawbacks to this all inclusive resort: My husband and i are early risers, we enjoy having our coffee at 0500. Although a coffee kit is provided in your room, no creamer is available. The resort has a coffee shop but they do not open until 0700. The pool and the pool bar close early, the only other bar is in the lobby with only 1 bartender, and the sky bar (adults only). The mixed drinks consistently tasted off. I'm unsure if it's the mix or it's a cheap version of the alcohol, but for that reason we only drank beer the entire 8 days we were there."

"The hotel is beyond incredible , located in a hill in the middle of the jungle with so many beautiful pools, an amazing lazy river and a very fun water slide where my kids spent hours on end. The staff is amazing. They always had a big smile on their face and always going above and beyond to help. Our pictures came out incredible, looking like a resort out of a movie. Our setbacks were the food - not that many restaurants where most of them were offering the same thing. It seems like they had good intentions about food but poorly executed. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style food every day, where everything was cold-warm at the most and bland. Nothing in either of the restaurants was great, they were just okay at most, except the Teppanyaki style one. This one was really good but without AC - brutal! The second thing was that the walls are extremely thin and you could hear everything - literally. Something we never had experienced before. At times you would think that they were inside the room with you. Our neighbor sneezed, we said bless you just joking and she answered thank you as if we were in the same room. But the worse thing was that our neighbors had a dog (didn’t know it was pet friendly) so the dog barked all the time. Was not planning on going on a relaxing vacation to be hearing a dog all the time - very annoying. It would be best if they had either a floor solely for guests with pets or even a whole section for them. Would go back for the scenery, not the food"
Marival Emotions All-Inclusive Resort by Mercure

"I booked three rooms for six nights in June 2026 for a family trip to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary. The age range of the group was 3-90, so it was a tall order to find someone for everyone. Marival Emotions really had it all. It was a 15 minute taxi ride from PVR airport. I was expecting a time share presentation push before getting the room keys at check in. It took a little while (maybe 45 minutes?) and we declined, but it was never brought up again, which I appreciated. We booked two suites and one regular room. We all received the king beds we requested (it is a preference, not a guarantee). There was not a big price difference, but the one bedroom suites all have two bathrooms, a living room, a table and chairs, bathrobes, and a door on the bedroom, which can be important for families. They were worth the extra money, in my opinion. My brother had a spectacular view of the ocean and pool from his third floor suite! There are different floor plans and even though I booked two of the same 1BR suites, they were very different layouts in different buildings. My niece had so much fun at the kids club and children's pool. The staff was really incredible and took such good care of us. Octavio, the concierge, went above and beyond, especially making sure that my parents' (who have some mobility challenges) were able to get dinner reservations at sit down restaurants. I worked briefly in a 4 star hotel, and Octavio is the most amazing concierge I have ever seen!"
