Serviceable pub hotel. The rooms are dated and creaky but the bathrooms were freshened a few years ago and were fine. The beds are hard, and the carpet and furniture worn. The room was clean, however, and the staff friendly. Bottom line, this isn’t a luxury stay, but for a night or two if you need to be in Marlborough, this pub hotel is acceptable and clean.

Room was clean and quite quiet at the rear of the hotel. Bedroom had beamed ceiling and atmospherically squeaky floor. Comfortable bed. No air con but a fan was provided . Helpful staff always pleasant.

This hotel is the Grand Dame of Marlborough. It's right in the centre of the High Street, and includes guest parking - as rare as hen's teeth in the town. The lovely, friendly staff here are local people, full of kindness and knowledge and they take real pride in their hotel and make time for people. Expect large, quirky rooms, comfy beds, a roomy, traditional bar and separate restaurant, ancient oak staircases, and excellent breakfast cooked to order.
