"Enjoyed our stay at the castle. Staff were friendly and efficient giving great service. The courtyard rooms are small but well furnished and comfortable, also I thought great value. However we decided to upgrade to a larger state room and the staff were really helpful in enabling us to do that. You can really immerse yourself in the castle experience.The room was surprisingly warm as obviously no double glazing. Breakfast was excellent. If you are looking for a true castle experience you won't be disappointed. "

"Stayed here about six times now and have always had a good experience overall. The rooms are consistently clean and the air conditioning works well. I also regularly use the gym, although on my most recent stay the cable machine was missing the hand grips, so hopefully these can be replaced soon. If I had one complaint it would be the breakfast. The scrambled eggs were solid, the beans had a skin on top, and the sausages looked overcooked. The fresh fruit selection also included some pieces of apple that had gone brown. Overall a good hotel, just some small improvements and it would be great hotel."

"The shower was the worst shower in a hotel I’ve ever had. Quite disappointed in this key function of a bathroom, whilst away from home. Would not look to book again"

"A lovely flat close to all the amenities and transport hubs in Sunderland. Only a 20min walk to the Stadium of Light if you are going to the football. There is a great curry house just next door and a Wetherspoon across the road for breakfast. "

"Check-in was quick and easy as someone was at the desk but there were times I would have liked to ask a question of a staff member but there was no one around. I would also like to have had a suitcase stand rather than have it opened on the floor. I don't like to us the bed as a suitcase stand as the suitcase is not particularly clean."
