"The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. "As usual a fantastic welcome when i got to the New Bath. I had one of the Balcony Rooms facing the pool, they have been redecorated to a high standard with an amazing shower. The bar is now open to quite late which helps when you have been out late and fancy a night cap. The food is lovely and nothing is too much for all the staff. "

"Fantastic old property that has been sympathetically restored / converted with fantastic rooms. Brilliant breakfast and typical Peak District hospitality….. Easy walk into the village too, where there’s shops and a couple of very good pubs too. We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer…. Hell Yeah!"

"Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast. The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free parking!!! Luckily we got parked ok in the train station car park but had to pay £15 per car. In the afternoon however the car park soon fills up and people drive up and down looking for a space. We’d stay here again due the location and the charm of the building. "
