"The only thing lacking was a bar open past 5 that wasn’t inside a restaurant. It would have been nice if the lounge stayed open. Not a big deal of course. Everything else was perfect!!! I could live there. The souvenir shop was the BEST. I wanted everything. "

"We had an excellent stay at the Irori Yado Hidaya. The staff are excellent and make your stay great by their attention to detail and their friendliness. The hotel is a traditional Ryokan i.e. you sleep on futons, have floor seats etc. and we loved embracing this for 2 nights. The hotel offers free incence, candy, tea, and you can try on Yukata's on and even borrow them to go into town. The only things to note is that there are no showers in the room, and if you wish to shower you have to use the communal onsen (seperated by gender). This does not bother me personally, however you have to go naked into the Onsen, which may put some people off. We loved the experience, and want to thank all the staff again for being excellent."

"Très beau séjour dans ce Ryokan recommandé par Michelin. Personnel super serviable, accueillant et au devant de nos besoins, souriant, à l’aise en anglais. Onsen et bain public disponibles Excellent petit déjeuner, au choix: végétarien avec beaucoup de fruits, asiatique très bon ou western. Le western était ordinaire. Avantage majeur: à 350 m de la gare de Takayama! On a énormément aimé notre séjour! Merci à toute l’équipe "

"Great hotel. Room and bathroom are big and comfortable. The hotel is pretty new and modern. Staff is very polite and helpful. 3 minutes walking from the train and bus station. Highly recommend staying here. "

"We have enjoyed very much our stay. The room is huge. There is a two in one washer and dryer in the room, very convenient. The complimentary drinks in the fridge are refillable every day with beer, coke, green tea, and sake. There is free access to hot spring at another hotel 10 mins walk away. "
