This was definitely a case of the "the pictures are better than the reality". The room was dark, but quiet. Unfortunately, it was pretty dirty. There was hair on the toilet and in the shower. The sheets were of questionable cleanliness and I really shouldn't have lifted the mattress, but I couldn't help myself. The neighborhood is not the best, but it is close to public transport and some cool parks and buildings. During the day it is safe enough, but be careful walking at night (but that could be said for most of Medellin). Overall, it is a convenient, cheap option, but if you are willing to splurge an extra $10 or $20 you should be able to find something much better.
