Missing the details

The building is beautiful and the location is very nice but a lot of missing details made the stay only average. There was also some incorrect information on the Hotels.com website. The website showed check on at noon, but in reality it was 3 pm. I also filtered on rooms with a kitchen which I thought meant that our suite had a fridge, microwave etc. In fact the kitchen was shared by all guests and was two floors down from our suite. So while it's true that there is a kitchen it was not very convenient and it was shared in the common area. Regarding details, there was no toilet paper when we arrived to our room, we had to ask for towels andone of the beds was in poor condition. Any needs where slightly hard to get filled since there wasn't staff all the time. All in all this is a nice property with lots of character, in a very quiet yet central location. If the details were looked after and the information on the website corrected this would have been fabulous. As it was the stay was fine but not wonderful. A final comment is that we were travelling with both kids and senior citizens. A different group may not have worried about the details.

The property is located on a centric and safe area, parking is inside the property, however, the property lacks many details required to make it a clean and comfortable space, we were told we will have 3 beds, we ended up with one bed and a makeshift futon, patched with cardboard and sheet metal pieces, the carpet was stinky and stained, the main door latch is falling apart, etc.

La atmósfera de la casa es estupenda, llegué cinco noches a la suite con mi esposa y los espacios son fabulosos, tiene muchos detalles que conquistan como el techo con cúpula de tabique, el enorme closet vestidor, la mesita de cama, la forma en que la luz solar penetra al baño es encantadora. Con respecto a la ubicación, me resultó sumamente conveniente, muy fácil accesar al Centro de Coyoacán a pie y muy accesible para conectarse en auto con el resto de la ciudad. Las áreas comunes de la casa son muy confortables también, la cocina muy bien equipada. Lo único que no me gustó tanto fue que el agua caliente dura poco, pero sí me daba tiempo para bañarme. La atención del anfitrión Ángel es sobresaliente, te hace sentir en casa inmediatamente y siempre está dispuesto a hacer la estadía más placentera. Recomiendo ampliamente Casa Ayvar

This was the oddest stay I've had with hotels.com. Firstly, it's not a hotel. It's a house with a couple bedrooms. It's a beautiful house but a house nonetheless. Not a hotel. I wish I could give them a really good rating because they were very nice people but our shower flooded after one person showered. I simply didn't have time to tell them but I feel like this is something they should definitely already have been aware of. Also, one of the two beds in the room is not a bed. It's a futon. Finally, nowhere in the fine print did I find anything about there being two cats. This is something that most definitely should be disclosed. I had to go out and purchase allergy medication for me and another guest. This is a huge deal. Luckily, I didn't spend very much time in the room other than to sleep but it could affect others who plan on spending more time inside the home. Like I said, the hosts were very nice but there was some very basic information missing when we made this booking.

Great relaxing base for exploring Coyoacan

Located in Coyoacan, a block from Frida Kahlo Museum and a few blocks from Trotsky’s museum, and also a few pleasant blocks away from the center of Coyoacan with its beautiful plaza and ample selection of restaurants. Blazing fast wifi. Room within a residential complex, with bathroom shared with one other set of guests, full use of kitchen (tea, coffee, fruit & eggs available). Friendly house cats. Comfortable bed, and use of spacious common areas outside of room. Proprietor Angel very attentive, and also had him guide us around to distant pyramids at Xochicalco.
