This was a unique small boutique hotel that had everything I needed... clean, comfortable, coffee and water in room, grab and go breakfast items with choices, a coffee bar, and located in a walkable safe area. Highly recommend!
Our first visit to this boutique hotel, was pretty new and therefore clean and fresh. The staff was very accommodating and responsive. The rooms are good size, beds comfortable with all necessities. The location is great, lots of restaurants and 3 blocks to Parque Chapultepec, safe area and we will definitely return here on our next trip to CdMx.
Brand new. Clean. Nice. No amenities. Perfect for the purpose. Would like to see more

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating, however, they were fixing plumbing issues while we were there, which created a huge inconvenience to our first day. We didn’t have running water for several hours. Another complaint is the toilet seat was a little broken and wouldn’t stay up. I also don’t know where the spa was located. We never saw one.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights on November 6-10th, 2025. The hotel is small, but intimate. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The location is excellent in the Polanco area. You can walk or Uber to many of the points of interests or excellent restaurants in the area. The staff is very excellent and attentive. There was street noise from our room, but the staff provided me some ear plugs to help with my light sleeping. They provide a light breakfast every morning. The room we stayed in had a King size bed that was very comfortable. The room was modern contemporary with a minimalist design. It was very well thought out design! The air conditioning worked really well. If you need any supplies, just ask the staff and they will respond to your request immediately. They provide a safe for your personal belongings. There was a small fridge to keep your water or food cool. We asked the staff for restaurant recommendations in the area and they gave us some good restaurants (La Casa del Pastor) for tacos. Porfirio’s is across the street, on the corner. All and all it was a great stay. If you’re looking for a small, modern boutique hotel in the heart of Polanco at an affordable price (compared to the other Polanco hotels in the area) you won’t be disappointed. It was a pleasant surprise for us. 😎

Disliked: Amenities
First, my mistake. I did not realize this is really a kind of Airbnb hybrid. It’s not a full service hotel. Expedia should include this in apartment style options not hotel options.
Second, this is definitely NOT 5 star. Or even 4 star. It’s comfortable and clean BUT at most 3 star by international standards.
Third, the staff try their best which is a good thing.
Fourth, you can’t drink tap water in Mexico City so it’s important to have bottled water. They had bottled water in the room, but not the screw type top. You needed a bottle opener. The « hotel » did not have one so one had to go to the front door person to open - even apartment type accommodations have bottle openers.
There was a huge expectation gap. The only thing I can say is the staff tried. But this is not as advertised. I have paid half the amount charged most recently in the Baltics for a 5 star hotel in a capital city.
Anyway, the rooms need some refreshing as well.

Nice hotel and good location, but the noise is a serious problem. You can hear everything from everywhere. I stayed on the first floor and would never recommend it. The restaurant is right there, and after 7 am it’s impossible to sleep. During the day it’s just as bad, you can hear lobby conversations word for word.
I initially thought this was only a first floor issue, but noise carries throughout the hotel. The walls and doors feel paper thin. If they fixed the soundproofing, this place would be great. As it is, it’s a hard pass. I barely slept.
The staff was good and tried to help, but this isn’t something that can be fixed on the spot.
The room was clean, amenities were great, and most importantly the staff was extremely friendly and responsive to all of our requests. Great location and would definitely stay with them again.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Amenities, particularly the Self Drip Coffee flask. The bed and pillows were firm, just right. The HVAC and internet were great.
Lamartine Boutique Hotel is simply beautiful. The décor is stylish and carefully designed, creating an elegant yet cozy atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, I felt I was in a very special place.
I especially want to highlight the kindness of Jorge and the entire staff: always attentive, welcoming, and ready to help, which made my stay even more enjoyable. You can really tell they love what they do and that service is their top priority.
I had an excellent time—everything was perfect: spotless facilities, a charming ambiance, and a wonderful team. I would definitely love to come back!
Todo perfecto el hotel muy limpio, el staff de la entrada y todos muy profesionales y amables
Pero las paredes parecen de papel, se escucha todo mal plan!
The location was great! The staff were very friendly.
The water temperature in the shower was terrible. It went from hot to cold, cold to hot continually. The flooring in the room was laid with rough slate tiles slippers would have been nice. From the pictures the closet looked fine but was in a very odd spot as you had to climb on the couch to reach it.
Unfortunately on our last night the drapery rod fell down. Although they were able to move us to another room for the night I wonder what would have been if the hotel was full.
Breakfast was ok but it should state it is continental.
When I booked the hotel I went by previous reviews and quite frankly this is not a 5 star property.
