If it's your first time traveling during COVID-19, you'll notice a few more standards and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your trip to Mississippi Delta go off without a hitch:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA officer will require you to lower your mask temporarily for identification purposes.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, place your pass on the scanner and then hold it up for inspection.
• You are now allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. You'll need to remove it for screening.
• Remove personal items from your pocket, like your wallet, keys and phone, and place them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to open your bag for inspection.
