The bed was no good. The road to get there is torn up, muddy and giant craters. The service was not great. The internet sucked the whole time.

We loved this place, everyone was so nice and friendly. We stayed 6 days and everyone in the area really made us feel like family. The water was beautiful. They helped with the tours we wanted to take.

Good place for a short stay in Moalboal

Was a good and convenient place to stay for a short 3 night stay in Moalboal. Right next to the beach and an easy walk from the main strip. Water pressure and wifi were a bit of a challenge, but we had excellent service particularly from the night-shift receptionist/hotel manager. He was extremely helpful with all of our concerns and so friendly to us.

Highly recommended. Only 30 seconds to the beach where you can swim with sea turtles and schools of sardines. This Greek-style inn is clean and simply equipped with all the necessary amenities. The staff is responsive, helpful and friendly. It is too far to walk to the nearby mall and bus terminal, so you can rent a scooter or take a tricycle at the store right in front of the hotel. Cabana is the only restaurant near the hotel that accepts credit cards.

Great stay!

The staff was amazing and very helpful. The room was clean and the staff did an excellent job of keeping the hallways free of dirty and sand. The beds are quite firm and you are only supplied with one pillow each, although we never asked for more, I’m sure they would have accommodated. The AirCon and Wifi were both excellent but the water pressure was sometimes lacking. Very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Saturday night there was a live band at the Pacita's Disco Bar just down the lane way which was loud but put on an excellent show and gave a good nightlife vibe. The staff arranged 1 excursion for us and it was excellent, although our driver was 25 min late, that was to no fault of the hotel it self. Would highly recommend staying here.

Avoid this place!

Avoid this place. I booked a king size bed and got a double. Had zero water!!! Couldn’t even shower. No phones in the room to call the front desk. Bathroom stink of sewage coming up. Bed was hard and only had 1 flat pillow each. Won’t be going back here again.

A major disappointment

I do not recommend this hotel. There are a few notable reasons for the negative experience: 1) the shower barely worked so you had to use a bucket 2) you couldn't wear your shoes so you had to use the same slippers everyone else uses for their feet to enter your room (or go barefoot). It was not sanitary. Why not provide new slippers to each paying customer?! 3) worst of all, they seemed to totally forget about the tour we booked with them. We started late for our sea turtle and sardines tour. As a result, we could not see much because the seas became rough and reduced visibility to 4-5 feet. They also didn't communicate that you don't need a permit for snorkeling off the beach where you can see sea turtles and the sardine run. In the end, they just made me overpay to rent a boat to see a medicore island off of Moalboal that provided no value. Very unethical and unhelpful staff. Do yourself a favor and book at a better hotel. This one does not deserve the positive reviews it has received.

You only get one key. It has to be placed in the slot to get electricity in your room. So when you leave your room and take your key it shuts down your air conditioner and your small refrigerator. You return each time to a hot room and you might as well forget about usinh the refrigerator.

Cleanliness is what stood out for me about this place. The staff does a great job keeping it clean. The only downside is hearing the locals by your window (I was on the main floor) which can interrupt your sleep.

Hotellet var fint med en god beliggenhed. Personalet var altid hjælpsomt og virkede kompetent. Hotellet tilbyder også et udvalg af scootere til leje til rimelige priser. Vores værelse var lidt slidt og småt, men rent. Der var dog ingen solrige terrasser, da alle var i skygge.

Booked a two night stay at D’Gecko from March 5th-7th. Location of the hotel is great and the staff are friendly, but that’s about everything that is good about this hotel. Bed sheets were stained from overuse and so were the towels. The shower was interesting… either freezing cold or scalding hot. Comes out as a drizzle or as a jet depending on how it’s feeling. Would not recommend staying here unless your other option is a hostel. Oh, I guess another pro is that they have a water cooler in the hallway, so I will give them that.

We had an enjoyable stay at D'Gecko Hotel. The location was great, and the room was clean and comfortable. Regarding the slippers to be used in the room - we thought this was a good idea to avoid common areas getting sandy/dirty - however we just wish they'd provided larger sizes of slippers!

Property was very close to the beach only a 2-4 min walk from prime snorkeling areas. Restaurants near you, but with enough distance from high trafficed areas and noise from restaurants. Sadly because of the lack of 24 hour front desk staff and no phones to call anyone our experience here was ruined by a guest next door who decided he was going to have party and started playing music at midnight, gambling, slamming doors from midnight until 3:30 am. I had a canyoneering excursion the next day with a meeting time of 6 am, this lack of sleep did not make for a good stay. ( No I did not confront the person making the noise as safety is important to me, especially in a different country)

There was one nice lady that works in the afternoon. Poor customer service. D' Gecko Hotel it's super loud all day. During gets worse night it's terrible that place it's a Motel NOT a Hotel.
