"This was an amazing hotel. We had a breathtaking view. The staff gave us a wonderful beach recommendation. The “castle” was just a short walk. The breakfast had such a large variety and everything was delicious. Would love to come here again."
"My stay at Kinsterna left me with mixed emotions.
The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The pool area was beautiful and the breakfast was the highlight - an abundance of choice using fresh and local/their own produce - honey and marmalade were insanely good. Also, really liked that you could explore the grounds, their olive groves and vineyards and meet the lovely farm animals.
However, there are a few negatives that have affected our experience. We arrived late due to our late flight - the hotel were informed in advance. Understandably due to our late arrival and it being dark the staff just took us to our room and didn’t offer us a tour of the grounds or a welcome drink. So we went to the reception in the morning but the female receptionist wasn’t overly welcoming and didn’t offer us anything - no information or a guided tour. We even had to ask where the breakfast was served. I expect more welcoming and helpful receptionists at a 5 star hotel, so a very disappointing start to our stay.
Secondly we paid for an upgrade to one of the Byzantium rooms. Again this didn’t meet our expectations. I understand this is the historic part of the grounds but the room was very dark and very damp and the furniture felt very basic. There was even a dehumidifier on at all times and you you couldn’t use the cupboards as they smelt damp. Not an experience I was expecting of a 5star hotel.
It is a lovely hotel but I wouldn’t say it matches the experience of other 5 star hotels."
"We really loved staying at Likinia and highly recommend it. Our room was spotless, and the staff was very helpful. It was pretty cool to stay in a castle-like setting. There was one minor maintenance issue (toilet had a minor constant trickle, but it worked fine). Power cycled several times during the night; might have been the city instead of the hotel.
While the hotel is at the far end of town, the town is only 4 minutes from one end to the other so it’s not a problem. That said, if you plan to bring lots of luggage, the stairs and cobble stones could pose a problem. (We used a backpack and left our luggage in the car at the end of the causeway. AirTags gave us confidence.)"
"The place was clean, with a friendly staff and the breakfast was the best we had on the peninsula. The complaint we have about the place is in the description of the location. This place is 40 min from Monemvasia and the name suggests different. There’s a nice pool, access to the beach and spa treatments are available. If you can transport this place at a different location, it’d be awesome."
"That’s not the lux. But Very friendly with a magnific view on thé balcony. You can not close thé Windows. It’s too beautiful. It’s was quiet during our Time. We Very appreciate."
"The staff was helpful with a bag as we were on the 3rd floor. The benefit of the 3rd floor was the view of Monemvasia Island. The hotel is right by the bridge over to Monemvasia island. It is next to the bus station which saves some steps to the island. There are plenty of food options in the area. For us, this was more convenient than staying on the island and needing to carry bags on cobblestone streets and steps. "
"Very personable staff, especially Aphrodite at dinner! Room (superior suite) was very large and comfortable.
Special accommodations in a very special and unique place!! "
