Very clean room, host was friendly. Charming hotel.
The property is very convenient to the downtown area as well as being safe and quiet.
The owners, Sandy and Cathy, are excellent hosts. The rooms are clean, well maintained and are very comfortable. The rooms I have stayed in have all had good views of the town and harbor.
The room was cozy and clean. The attention to details definitely noted.
The breakfast with other guests and Sandy was informative and fun. Definitely recommend the Scotsman it is the BEST!!
Beautifully restored historic house (every detail). Comfortable bed, crispy clean white bedding and towels. Walking distance to restaurants and downtown.
Classic building with comfortable bed and great patio and garden. The host is a gregarious Scot. Pictou is small but charming with many old buildings and a nice waterfront.
This was simply AMAZING… Sandy was there to welcome us and show us around. The place is spotless and the details right down to the kind of shampoo was over the top. We will certainly recommend to all our friends and family. Thank you again !!
The owners of this property have put alot of effort into having guests feel like one big family and to feel looked after. Sandy personally served everyone their breakfast in such a classy yet friendly way, in a formal dining room complete with china and all the trimmings. It was a very special experience.

This was our favourite accommodation on our recent trip to Nova Scotia and PEI. The room with private bath was gorgeous. The hospitality was superb. Our host, Sandy, was charming and an outstanding storyteller. Breakfasts were a delightful and delish experience with Sandy serving in his kilt while Kathy baked croissants in the kitchen. Cannot speak highly enough about this memorable stay.

We very much enjoyed our two night stay at The Scotsman’s Inn. Sandy and Cathy were convivial hosts and provided us with a lot of helpful advice on areas of local interest and our journey onwards to Cape Breton. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the bed/mattress was very comfortable. The Inn had been lovingly restored and was full of character. A small improvement for us would have been the provision of natural yoghurt and decaf coffee for breakfast.
We were so impressed with the quaint and eclectic look of the property. It was warm and charming in its decor. We were able to choose our room and decided on the third floor dormer that was comfortable and private.
Amazing stay. They’re very helpful, they know the area and gives good suggestions. The room and the whole Inn are STUPENDOUS and we wish we could’ve stayed there more. The experience of breakfast was very unique and delicious. Makes you want to go back to Pictou ! Thank you :)
Amazing location, very very clean and spacious rooms, great location, walkable to all major attractions. Great owners that make you feel welcome! Very quick and easy check in. Very clean and spacious room! Would definitely recommend.
Difficult climbing 50 steps with luggage to room although we knew this was coming. Do not arrive before 4:00 check in. Nice breakfast but not a lot of protein. Room was nice with view.

Sandi and Cathy do an outstanding job on the Scotsman . From the time you walk in till you Leave . The ground are beautiful . And so very helpful when travelling from Pictou . We stumbled to the Inn few years ago and have not stop going and will continue .
Cheers to All Dee And Kevin. 😊😊❤️❤️
First impressions I was skeptical as to what wife booked but after meeting owner and seeing his renovations I was impressed. Room was small but we were there for short overnight stay so didn't matter.Wife has MS and there were alot of stairs up to room but again short stay.Walking distance to several restaurants with harbor view.Close to ferry terminal and motorcycle parking.Owner very accommodating.
Sandy and Kathy were great hosts!! They made us feel welcome and were very helpful recommending restaurants and places to go. A wonderful facility and great fresh breakfast.
