This location and its history made this Inn a great stopover night for us as we travelled down the East Coast. The scenery is beautiful and the staff are helpful and friendly. This would would be a great place to meet with family members and/or friends to enjoy sharing a cottage (with 6 rooms and a common area) to enjoy a few nights or week together. There is a lot to do in the area and the porch of the cottage lends itself to just sitting and admiring the natural surroundings, especially the lake!

Room was very clean; fresh towels delivered on day 2
We enjoyed the park very much.
We also enjoyed the 1915 restaurant; the food is very good, and the service is as well.
However, the hotel is not worth the price. To pay 300 dollars for 1 night and have a horrible smell and bad cleanliness.... Not my type of a good time.
Hiking Coffe also a good place.👍
Food fresh and good!
Excellent accommodations and atmosphere. Nature lovers and hikers, come here! Our lodge was cute and clean, with amenities. Free coffee dollars!
One recommendation I’d have for the BB Inn might be to improve food quality in the cafe. Restaurant and staff otherwise are excellent.
The beds were comfy! The a/c was great! The view was overgrown and half dead trees. There is NO ELEVATOR! On Sunday, brunch at 1915 restaurant was a Princess Barbie brunch even though it was a big weekend for West Point. I prefer to stay anywhere but Overlook lodge. What a terrible stay! I should have flung my money into the Hudson instead!
We stayed in one of the stone cottages and were given two keys to our room and only one of the two worked. Walls are pretty thin you could hear other people's conversations. The room itself was cozy and clean and has a romantic vibe making it an ideal location for a weekend getaway with your partner.
Clean,Cozy, quiet and had a great view of lake hessian . Can’t ask for more.

It’s an inn that you will think you time-traveled back to 1990s. Overall okay. If you like the nature, you will have a good time.
I didn’t know if you book through Expedia, you will be assigned only to the “Overlook Lodge.” This is an older separated building and the water pressure is a bit weak. My wife also killed a BIG grasshopper that somehow got into our room.
The other building looks much nicer.
Staying at Bear Mountain Inn was amazing. Hessian Lake is beautiful. The park and trails are clean and hiking here is very good. We loved the Bear Mountain Zoo and all the exhibits. Staff here are very good. I highly recommend staying here. The rooms, decor, staff and ambiance are top notch. We will be back very soon!!
We stayed overnight at the Lodge, as our daughter had her prom at the Inn. It was clean, peaceful, and affordable. My husband and I had a delicious dinner at the Inn restaurant and we all enjoyed breakfast at the Café. Lovely time.
A small room but a great location. Bed was comfortable and A/C worked well. A little noisy, since the rooms are close to each other. Can be a bit of a challenge to find the room we were staying in. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and the room was clean.

The place is comfortable and has a beautiful view. However, instructions for check-in need to be clearer. Address on website takes you to rooms and check in is at least a 5 minute drive away. Then had to drive back to room for stay. Very confusing. Luckily, maitenance staff was driving there and directed us. When we returned other guests had the same issue and we directed them, there was not staff at site around to help. Should have check in on site at lodge.
Came here only to sleep 1 night. definitely will be making plans to spend a long weekend here. it's simply beautiful and almost breathtaking and relaxing. My wife will be using it as her writing retreat.
