Comfortable room with a good shower. Hotel itself is nicely decorated and very comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location is great.
The bathroom sink didn’t drain properly and, oddly, the windows in my room were all sealed shut and there was no air-conditioning so it was unpleasantly hot.
Grand hotel conveniently placed in Newcastle. A bit old fashioned. Lack of functioning air conditioning was a problem in the recent heat.

Perfect for an overnight stay in centre of Newcastle. Parking right outside is helpful too. Nice enough hotel with spacious rooms but top floor rooms are right by the train track. If you’re a light sleeper you’ll need ear plugs. Apart from that all great.
Location near quayside about 10 mins from Central Station. Breakfast was good, gym was nice. Rooms a nice layout, but cannot turn off the heating and was boiling hot and ruined my stay.
We always choose the Vermont when visiting Newcastle it is in a perfect location and the staff are great. The hotel is having an upgrade staring in the top floor working down which will be great as the rooms are currently quite dated but still nice, everything you need and a decent size.

Actually, the only week link of the entire state was the breakfast buffet. Items not hot. Fresh fruit embarrassingly limited. Coffee was great. And the staff excellent.
The hotel its self is lovely, staff were helpful, and its in a great location However, the heat of the room, was unbearable, we had two fans in the room and they just didn't really help much. The windows and curtains had been left open before we checked in meaning the room was incredibly warm once we got in, then when it became light, maybe around 4am, it got unbearable again, couldn't sleep at all.

The stay was very good. On arrival check in and parking was great.
We were staying for our 10year wedding anniversary after getting married at the Vermont hotel.
Once checked in we went to the room to be welcomed by a happy anniversary message and some cake which was lovely touch.
The room was really clean and tidy, spacious and had everything we needed.
Breakfast in the morning was great, plenty of options to choose from and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Great stay
