The view from the room over Lake Toya was superb. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff were polite and helpful. Parking is outside the door. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there is a good dining area with a microwave. We would recommend bringing supplies with you - the nearest restautant is a 15 minute drive.

Loved the view from the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the room was spotless. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Hokkaido.

Positives: The mountain and lake view was breathtaking. The price was reasonable for a summer weekend. The area around the property is walkable with a nice sidewalk, Parking was easy and convenient. Weakness: The bath and shower area was dated. No elevator for the 2nd floor rooms. Steps are narrow for all of us with larger feet (difficult to navigate).

It's really so nice, and the two front desk staff also kindly offered to drive us to the train station when it wasn't convenient for us, which truly touched our hearts.

Modern Westernized Hotel with a fantastic view of Lake Toya and wonderful staff. A 25 minute drive to Rutsusu ski area. Lovely soaking jacuzzi tub with views of the lake. We will definitely stay here again to ski Rutsusu.

Great place to stay for a overnight visit in Lake Toya. 10 mins by car to the downtown area but you will need your own car as it is a bit remote. Nice view of the lake as the hotel is located in the mid-mountain area.

The lake view is wonderful from the hotel. The room is large, design is very good especially the bathroom. The hugeflower field is near by the window. If I go to this area, I will choose to stay at this hotel again.

Loved this hotel! Very small and felt like you were out in the country side. The view was unbeatable. Room was very big and spacious, as well as bathroom. Not much around so either come prepared with food to heat up or be prepared to drive a bit to town. All in all one of my favorite places I stayed my whole trip.

The view for this hotel was great. You are able to view the fireworks from lake Toya from your room if you are facing the lake. Of course it is from a distance but if you can enjoy it in the comfort of your room and also you do not have to drive in the dark. The distance from the bottom of the road to the hotel does not have lamp post so it can be really dark if you come back at night. During check in, the staff did not explain that we need to bring down our towels to get new ones as there are no housekeeping. Housekeeping is only 3 days once. So we we also surprise that the rubbish was not clean in our room. And there did not explain how we can clear the rubbish in our room. A bit disappointing with their service.

Lovely small hotel with a fantastic view of Lake T

Hotel Cocoa is newly renovated and comfortable. It is a small hotel situated on a hilltop, so if one is not driving, then it's rather far from Toyoka town and the only eatery is a cafe 10 mins walk away. However, the view of Lake Toya is breathless and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. On site parking is free

Nice stay near by Toya

Staff were very nice and always offered support. The room was also great. We could see the lake just outside of the room. Restroom are without curtain, I think that can be improved.

This is a beautiful property with lake Toya on one side and Yoteii mountain on the other. The rooms are the largest we have seen in Japan with a beautiful sitting area and large bathroom with a huge tub both overlooking Lake Toya! This made for excellent firework viewing from the room for the local festival. They also had a nice common area in the hotel with some tables, coffee, tea and hot water to use. The location was convenient to drive to Toyaka Onsen town for food, but also to Rusutsu for skiing.

Very clean, roomy, amenities, hospitality, with nice Toya lake view….stayed there for 4 days and couldn’t believe we found this hotel at this room rate. Only thing didn’t like about this hotel was “no elevator “ For young people it will be no problem, but for elders and handicapped people, it’s not easy to go upstairs with luggage.

Beautiful hotel but poor service.

Room is beautiful with magnificent view. However, Reception staff is not helpful or even welcoming. Requested him to switch on the air conditioning in the lounge when we wanted to eat our dinner there with friends staying in different rooms. He agreed but did not appear at all. No smile or greeting when met him at the Reception the next morning. The cleaning staff was much more courteous and cheerful. It’s a shame for such a beautiful hotel to have such a bad service staff.
