With new safety guidelines in place, travel looks a bit different at the moment. Here's what you need to know before you get on that plane to Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs:

• Look into if any restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check before you lock something in.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA employee.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Instead, you should position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
