The lack of fresh air in the rooms at night was the only small issue I had. Not really a complaint as probably not a lot can be done regarding this as the structure of the building restricts anything. Intriguing decor and a pleasure to stay there.

A really unique property of high quality furnishings. Very friendly staff and great position on the main street within walking distance to our restaurant. Definitely recommend and will be back again.

Boutique hotel with friendly service. Be aware that even using the elevator we needed to carry our luggage down and up a few stairs. We had a suite room with wonderful sitting area. Room across the hall was smaller. Rooms are themed with eclectic decor. There is a beautiful looking bar in the lobby but I'm not sure there is ever cocktail service. Nice self serve 'cold' breakfast is included.

Worth visiting Oamaru just to stay here
Wonderful, quirky hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. I’d never have thought I’d give an unqualified 5* review to a hotel where our (ground floor) room had windows too high to see out of, but it absolutely didn’t matter. There isn’t much of an outlook from the hotel anyway and the room interior was so characterful, quirky and delightful that it just didn’t matter. Alongside this the continental type breakfast was interesting and tasty. Downside - the bar was not operating so we didn’t really have a reason to sit around in the wonderful reception area. This was one of those rare hotels where I’d visit the town in order to stay in the hotel.
