Eco Hotel Las Mariposas was the best stay in Oaxaca! Walking distance so to many places to explore the city. The staff is superb and I appreciated the security of entering the building. It’s a beautiful hotel and I will be returning.

Owner really cares for the people staying at the hotel, small oversight with hot water was immediately taken care of, it's within walking distance to Santo Domingo Church and Jalatlaco neighborhood, close to pharmacy, park and small shops, really enjoyed it.

Clean and Cute Hotel with Awesome Staff

Gorgeous hotel with ample natural light, comfortable beds, hot showers, and air-condition. Staff are super super nice and helpful. Hotel serves coffee and bread in the morning which is a really pleasant way to start the day. The hotel also takes precautions to keep guests safe at night by locking up and having a 24/7 staff on duty. I was beyond happy with my stay here.

The best point of this hotel is very beautiful courtyard inside of the hotel. The breakfast is very simple but if you have a breakfast in the courtyard, that's very comfortable. It seems that there is no air conditioner in my room but it was not problem during my staying season. The staffs are very good, clean room and good access to the center of the city.

Oh my gosh I just loved it and was sad to leave. I was in Room D, at the back of the garden. Just the right size for me with loads of storage space. Liked the eco touches, like the bucket in the shower to save water as it warms up. Breakfast was cute and different every day. Felt very secure here. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Also. Lea the dog. Love her. Oh yeah and you can borrow a hat or an umbrella and store your luggage if you need to.

No laundry service. Old shower drip system. Breakfast limited to coffee and toast. Plenty of mosquitos inside the room at night despite best efforts to keep everything closed. thin mattresses on old beds. Convenient location in city center. Pleasant staff. Old villa with a couple of charming patios, but thats not enough to make me go back, even at a low price.

Positives are that the Hotel was nice - clean and aesthetically pleasing. What was less good was that we arrived at 1:30am and waited 10 minutes outside in the cold before someone let us in even though it said reception was open until 3am. Secondly, there was extremely loud building works in the building attached to the hotel room we stayed in. this was so loud it woke us up just before 8am i.e we only had 6 hours sleep. The tools the builders were hitting the wall with were so powerful that objects like picture frames on the walls of the hotel actually fell off on to the floor. We complained about the noise to ask for a partial refund as no where in the hotel description did it mention the noise and the receptionist just said “yes this happens everyday from 8am - there is nothing we can do, sorry”. This was disappointing to say the least.

Lovely historical building, lots of charm. we stayed in a room in the back. It was quiet and peaceful. The rooms may be on the small side, but comfortable and satisfactory. The location is near a major park and close to an emerging artistic neighborhood. coffee/tea and pan dulce each morning for all. Garden like setting and butterfly and eco awareness theme.

A most pleasant place. The location is great. It is quaint and yet comfortable. The continental breakfast is on the extreme minimalist side, but is consumed in a beautiful situation. All of the staff were super.
