"Usually when I’m not happy with a stay, I just put it down to experience and don’t bother to review it. Our stay at the Hawk was a long journey breaker, so we arrived latish, and left early. On this occasion I just think it is worth giving my thoughts, on room 4 at least: Positives - nice bedroom decor, lovely bed/ bedding, friendly staff. Negatives- TV… no signal, didn’t work at all, aerial lead simply didn’t fit properly… and had to have been that way for a while. Bathroom… some nice fittings,...

"Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating. "Room was good, bed comfy, shower worked well. It’s in the middle of town so there is some noise, especially on a Saturday night, but to be expected. Checking in was easy although it would have been helpful to have two room keys. The woman on the desk did not seem entirely in the same world as everyone else.
