Where to stay in Ogijima Island

This was my favorite art installation on Ogijima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea. It was part of the art festival held every three years, Setouchi Triennale in 2013. The gallery Memory Bottle was installed by Mayumi Kuri. Almost 1,000 bottles are on display, all with pictures or small trinkets inside. In her interview she says that she wanted to gather memories of the local people in Ogijima so she set up a collection box, asking people to put their memories in it. The bottles were lit up with lights and had everything from pictures to train tickets. The gallery is still open even though the next Setouchi Triennale is not until 2016. If you want to see the art during the islands off season, now is the time to go :) * 40min ferry ride from Takamatsu Port. It is about a 1.5hr flight from Tokyo to Takamatsu. Ogishima

Though Ogishima might not have many top sights, you can venture to the surrounding area to see attractions like Benesse House Museum and Lee Ufan Museum.

While Shiyū-jima District isn't home to many top sights, Takamatsu Castle and Kagawa Museum are some notable places to visit nearby.

"1) 行出大廈左轉十幾步己是兵庫町通, 優 2) 機場巴士就在街口, 優 3) 微波上方積塵, 中之島枱面粘手, 垃圾桶極髒, 夾褲板架積塵, 窗台好多塵, 天花牆紙脫膠, 某處牆紙有破洞, 衣櫃貼面脫膠, 到底是請什麼人在做清潔打掃, 差 4) 全屋只有一個瓷杯, 也沒有一把剪刀 5) 洗完衣服找不到Iron 大床床墊真的太太軟, 只能一個睡小床, 一個睡地上墊, 因為已全付款, 堅持了四晚在此Apartment, 全日本玩了卅多年, 住過不少酒店及公寓, 此處太不像日本了 有影相為證, 但不知如何上傳"

"子ども達がいるので、多少の大声や泣き声でも周りを気にせず、実家に帰った様に寛げました ホテルだとどうしても他のお客様もいるので、家族だけで過ごす事ができ、気が楽でした！ レトロな室内でとても綺麗にされており、布団もフカフカで寝心地がよかったです 連泊かつ子どもの急な汚れ物があったのですが、洗濯機があるので、洗剤を持参して洗濯できたのは助かりました！ 困った事があれば連絡すると、フォローしていただけ他事もよかったです！ また香川に行ったら利用したいです！ 本当にありがとうございました！"
