"this was a small hotel. i am a disabled traveler, mostly. i can walk, but it is difficult. we had a first floor room that my chair had to be lifted up into, small 1 - 2 ich lip. was fine. the room itself was spacious and clean. the kitchen/dining area was a complete kitchen/dining area with full size refrigerator and stove and a small table with 2 chairs. the bathroom was clean and modern. the only complaint I had there, and it's really not a complaint, was the seat of the toilet is low. they did have a grab bar on the outside of the shower to help with that, so easy-ish fix. I don't know if it was the time of week or year or what, but it was very quiet. The beds were comfortable and clean. The floors were tile so no nasty carpet to trap sand. And the back communal deck area was spacious and very well mantained with plenty of seating . Although not used, the pool was clean if rather small, but that's not a bad thing as this is a hotel with beach access. This particular hotel does offer beach chairs with stay, but their access is further than I could walk, so I was not able to use this. It is also around a block from a public beach with a life guard on duty and a shorter walk to the beach (just the terrain). Just an FYI. Breakfast consisted of fruit, coffee, yogurt, and bread products: not bad. This was a very pleasant place to stay. It was comfortable and easy to navigate. Should I decide to take a Beach Getaway again, I'll probably choose to stay here."

The Islander Inn

"Islander Inn reminds me so much of the small, old style Florida hotels from my youth. We rented two rooms for five of us. The property is well maintained on the exterior. Overall the rooms were pretty clean. Some items did need attention. There was a good amount of dust on the wall behind the bed all the way up to the vaulted ceiling. The drop ceiling in the kitchen was discolored & dirty inside and needed replacing. The pool needs to be cleaned each morning of falling leaves & debris. It’s an easy 4 minute walk to the beach through Hamiston Beach Park which is directly across the street! Walkable for restaurants & shopping! The staff were very nice! Kudos to Ramone & Greg for making us feel so very welcomed. It’s obvious when you check in that this hotel has a very strict smoking policy which is NOT stated at all on their website or any other booking option. I booked on Expedia which states there are non smoking rooms, yet no mention of a non smoking property. I Strongly suggest Islander Inn put this information on their website and correct all other booking options. Our girls week was a success & we would definitely return to this spot!"

Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa by IHG

"We stayed in an Oceanfront King Suite, and the room was amazing. Perfect view and extremely comfortable. The pool bar was great, the pool/beach staff were excellent and very attentive. We had meals and cocktails at Cobalt that were on par with our stay! The smoked old fashioned was quite good! Our only critique would be the first impression in the lobby - very dated and worn carpet on the staircase."
