Orlando, Florida hotel rooms at the Benchmark

"It's a mass hotel, a little bit like McDonald's is to food. It works, the rooms are relatively quiet for the enormous number of people on the property, staff really do everything they can to help everyone have the best time possible. But you can't do miracles with a hotel that has 2x14 floors and, like, a hundred rooms per floor. So, yes, it's efficient to go to universal, for a short trip, shuttles are convenient, there's enough food around the hotel too, the pool is pretty cool. Biggest downside is, again due to the people, but the WiFi is subpar, you even get kicked sometimes because too many people are on it, and 5g is dead as well, because so many people are connected to the tower, you get 1996 era bandwidth. Otherwise I'm amazed at how they manage to get this factory run that well. Kudos to the staff."

"Took my money for parking after they said my VIP status is FREE PARKING. Been waiting over a week for refund now if I ever get it"

"We had an overnight stay. The surroundings felt safe and the building was secure. The first issue I had was the inability to use cash. The next issue was understanding that in addition to the "resort fee", which is shown on the receipt, there was an "amenities fee" of $50, which is not shown. The Associate explained that the amount is suspended until after check-out, in which it will be returned to the card, in 3-5 business days. This is illogical to me. Why do they get to use my money for those days and I not benefit?"

"When i saw a hotel with over 7000 reviews and an almost 5 star rating i had to see for myself, seemed to good to be true but to my surprise the hotel lived up to its rating.From the look of the hotel, the area,the price and the check in everything was perfect.Julian was very helpful and it was a nice touch that he remembered and greeted guests by their name whenever they passed by.The breakfast was very good and great way to start the day, while staff maintained everything clean and were very attentive. Definitely recommend and will be returning!"

"Staff was great but theme music aroud the pool does not fit with the fifties theming. They used to play fifties music in the first year it opened and it was great. This time I went to enjoy breakfast outdoors and had to listen to a pop song about snorting cocain. Yea not very Cabana like."

"We stayed here because it was selected by the person organizing our trip. Overall, I found it overpriced for what was offered. At check-in, we received a small pretzel and popcorn, but beyond that, there weren’t many amenities that justified the cost. It also felt like there were extra fees for everything. We were told there would be a $200 incidental hold, but the front desk initially attempted to charge $300. Thankfully, my daughter noticed, and it was corrected. There is a small water park on the property, but it’s nothing particularly impressive. Considering how much guests pay to stay here, I was surprised that parking is not included. We chose not to bring a car and relied on the hotel shuttle, which runs on a limited schedule. Getting to Magic Kingdom was inconvenient—we had to take a bus to EPCOT, then a train, followed by a ferry. On the return, we were told we could skip the ferry, but ended up at the wrong bus depot and missed the last shuttle. Since the park closed at 11 PM, it would have been helpful if transportation ran later. We ultimately had to take an Uber back. Overall, the hotel itself was decent, but for the price point, it doesn’t offer enough value. I would not return or recommend it."
