Booked this room as a bit of an emergency passing through. Always a little iffy on these independant road side places. This place is charming as heck. From the old timer manning the night desk, to the cinnmon rolls added to the tyically nothing continental breakfast. Admittedly the hotel has not had a recent large scale renovation, but everything was clean and working.

Pool, hot tub and bar are all permanently closed, they should not post that they have these amenities. The box springs, mattresses and pillows were all stained. The linens were clean. No signs of bugs.

Room and lobby was clean, rustic northwoods decor was a bit dated but charming. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool, hot tub, restaurant look permanently closed. Hopefully there are plans to reopen at some point in the future, especially as local options for dining are limited. Good value for what we paid for lake view balcony room, only a few other guests at the time we stayed.
