"Nice hotel. Clean and quiet. Something for everyone - on a golf course, on-site hot/cold therapy spa, quick walking distance to Gatineau Park trail system for runners, cyclists, walkers, x-country skiers, and nature lovers. Conveniently located, if you have a car, it's close to Ottawa & Hull. Also a decent restaurant with cute bar (Kato)."

Fairmont Chateau Laurier

"Check in was appalling. Took 2 hours to get our bags to our room - they'd been delivered to another room. No real apology for that, to boot! Room was tired - patched wall paper, chips in furniture, stained bath enamel (really the bathroom needed a full refurb); We had a room with a view over the canal and towards the Parliament (room 404) but the windows were filthy. We didn't eat at the restaurant "Zoe" because the reviews were bad, but there are plenty of fine dining restaurants nearby. Checkout was swift and friendly. House keeping staff were excellent. This is a poor Fairmont, trading on the Fairmont name but failing to deliver Fairmont standards that we'd enjoyed at other Fairmont Hotels - eg Seattle, Boston, St Andrews etc. Very disappointing."
