Being 800+ yrs old there is no lift. Room on 2nd floor with large heavy luggage is hard work but chap at reception helped - on arrival, noone around on check out.
Bathroom light and fan very temperamental.
Mind you head of over 6Ft tall. Beam in 5ft 8". Doorway also under 6Ft high.
No refrigerator.
No aircon.
But great location for Radcliffe Camera, libraries and colleges.

Great location, very small bed.
We had to call the hotel to get a code to open the door, which no one told us.
I'll start with what we did like. It's very well situated and the centre of town was at the end of the street.
What we didn't like:
The front door was shut. We rang the doorbell. No reply. Called reception. No answer. Finally after trying the mobile phone number taped to the window, someone answered. This all happened while standing outside in the rain.
I was then given the instructions on how to get in. These included the code to the key safe to open the front door only, directions to the (unmanned) reception where my room key would be in an unspecified "basket", I was told which room I'd be in and where to find the room. These instructions were not emailed to me in advance, they were recited to me rapidly while i hadn't even opened the front door. I was also told (for the first time) that my room would be on the first floor and the communal toilet and shower would be on the second. If I had known these facilities were shared I would not have booked here.
Upon accessing the room, it smelled like someone had only left 5 minutes ago. The walls were scuffed, dirty and mouldy. The shower in the shared bathroom was dirty and mouldy too. I didn't shower the whole time I was there.
I didn't see any staff while i was there and quite honestly felt like i was staying in student accommodation.
In summary, I would not stay here again and was glad to leave.
We arrived at check in time and there was no one to greet us. We called the contact numbers on the door and left 2 messages and no returned our call. It was not until another guest arrived that she was able to call and speak to someone and then spoke on our behalf.
Room was incredibly small.
Location was fantastic.

The bathroom wasn’t clean when I checked in- there also wasn’t anyone at the front desk and the check in process was confusing- people kept ringing the doorbell to try to get in because there weren’t instructions. It was a mediocre experience, but definitely expensive for what it is
Great location. The room was clean as was the shared bath. Would stay again.

Centrically located.
Nobody at the reception when check-in so the instruction was given over the phone.
We stayed the Yellow room and it was small and tilted which made me sick. It was dump and smelly.
The room did not have an additional safety lock in the door and did not have a shower (only a bath).
Check-in was also difficult as there was nobody available when I arrived so I had to call and check in via phone.
Clearly needs some TLC to bring it back to standard, wall power sockets hanging loose, 'shower' is a 1 pint jug, door hooks unsecure. Generally just a bit tatty. And the bed has one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I've ever slept on.
The location is amazing but thats where it ends. It could be fantastic with some imagination and investment but to have to use a bathroom on another floor just isn't viable in this day and age. The decor was tired and the whole thing felt unloved.
Excellent communication & check in.
Lovely warm spacious room, ensuite shower room/toilet with shower gel.
Very comfortable bed and space to sit in front of TV.
Smart TV, kettle & tea/coffee/hot chocolate provided (+milk& sugar).
Lovely quiet street, very peaceful amongst the old buildings and looking across to one of the college gardens.
Lots of interesting places to walk to within 5 minutes, colleges, museums and also many lovely restaurants and cafes nearby.
I didn't have time to walk to the river but that looks lovely & there are boat trips.

The room was clean, the woman who checked us in was nice, and the location can't be beat. Would stay again.
The room itself was clean and cosy, quite small but good for a solo traveller. The bed was comfortable, and the hushed noise of the street outside was sooting.
There was no one on reception for the duration of my stay. I was stuck outside in the rain for 5 minutes trying to get in. I rang the number on the window and was given the key-code for the lock box to let myself in, and check in myself. Other guests had this problem.
No toilet or bathroom in the room was a real annoyance as the toilet was far away from where I was. No clue where the bathroom was, as there were no signs or receptionist to guide you.
