Nice small hotel with a very intimate feeling

The hotel is amazing! Felt so relaxing, people are so friendly and the place is amazing. The beach nearby is beautiful but the area does not have much to do around.

Loved it! The bungalows are huge, and comfortable, the staff is helpful and friendly. Special shoutout for the gardener lady who not only maintains the amazing garden but takes care of the lovely cats, too. The food was also good but I was surprised that people are allowed to smoke in the breakfast area. Even if it’s outside I would suggest to separate the non-smoking and smoking areas. All in all I really had a lovely time there and hope to visit in the future again!

Love this place

This is our 2nd vacation here and we have to say we love it , its quiet and with 2 pools 2 outdoors and 1 indoor (heated) there is never a problem getting a sun lounger and the pool is usually quiet too. This visit we decided to book breakfast only and eat out for evening meals, the breakfasts menu offers a large choice and the restaurant/bar attached but just outside the complex offered a comprehensive menu. The Suite was clean and spacious with secluded and private gardens, great for sun bathing. If we have one very small negative its that the suites are showing some signs of age, but we love the whole concept of these suites and we will be back again

Quirky Haven

We went away for a restful 7 day break and certainly got it. The hotel is really special and unlike any other we have stayed in before. The design concept is brilliant and the pods were completely private. The gardens are beautifully manicured. The staff are incredibly pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. We stayed on a B&B basis and have to say, the buffet was excellent. Miles of fantastic beach are literally across the road. A fabulous choice.

Quiet, relaxing, private, just what was needed.

We wanted a restful quiet holiday, and that's what we got, the pods gave privacy, the staff were polite and friendly but not intrusive, the rooms were very clean, and everywhere else was also clean and tidy. The only downside for us was, that we personally found the beds too hard, which was a shame because it did make for uncomfortable nights, and unless we can find a way around that it could put us off coming again, which would be sad because everything else was just as we wanted it to be.

The front desk staff were very pleasant, but the breakfast staff were a bit rushed and unfriendly. The rooms were large, but very dated. Several things needed replaced and there was a sewer like smell in the bathroom. The breakfast had a large selection, but was disappointed that the hot breakfast did not provide "pork free" options because everything is cooked on the same grill. The pools were decent and not crowded, but the dry sauna and hot tub were not working and the wet sauna had a bad smell. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from a few shops, restaurants, and the beach. The hotel did not have water or beverages for sale, which was needed with the hot weather. I was not impressed with the area , but overall the stay was decent and safe.

Als erstes möchte ich das äußerst freundliche und höfliche, zuvorkommende Personal in allen Bereichen loben. Das Frühstück war gut und abwechslungsreich. Ein großes Manko ist die Hotel eigene Kläranlage welche man in den Zimmerbereichen ab 200 aufwärts sehr unangenehm riecht. Nachts kann man kein Fenster oder Tür öffnen! Noch zu erwähnen ist, das das Hotel trotz Pflege in die Jahre gekommen ist…

Das Gute: Das Personal im Risco del Gato ist sehr freundlich und das Essen wirklich lecker. Besonders an den À-la-carte-Tagen (Di, Mi, Sa, So) mit guter Auswahl an Fisch, Fleisch, vegetarischer Hauptspeise, Suppe, Vorspeisen und Dessert. Auch das Buffet an den anderen Tagen (Mo, Do, Fr) war abwechslungsreich und lecker. Schön ist zudem der sehr private „Bunker“, in dem man ungestört sonnen kann. Die Außenanlage mit vielen Kakteen ist gepflegt und hübsch. Positiv waren außerdem Lounge mit Billard, Klimaanlage/Heizung sowie deutschsprachiges Personal an der Rezeption. Der Strand in Costa Calma ist schön, aber windig. Besonders empfehlen können wir Morro Jable (ca. 20 Min. mit dem Auto): traumhafter weißer Sandstrand, gefühlt weniger Wind sowie viele Shops, Cafés/Restaurants. Weniger gut: Die Inneneinrichtung der Zimmer wirkt in die Jahre gekommen und teils zusammengewürfelt. Das Bad mit blinden Spiegeln und Innen-Whirlpool war für uns unpraktisch – eine größere Dusche wäre sinnvoller gewesen. Die Betten quietschen. Auch Stauraum ist wenig durchdacht: schwer zugängliche Schränke mit quietschenden Türen, während im Schlafzimmer ein nutzlos wirkendes Glasregal mit altem CD-Player steht. Eine Renovierung wäre sinnvoll! Direkt unter dem Hotel liegt ein wenig einladendes Restaurant mit eher lieblos wirkendem Essen, das wir nur einmal besucht haben. Schade ist auch, dass die Lounge-Bar nicht mehr betrieben wird – das wäre ein gemütlicher Treffpunkt am Abend mit Getränken.
