"Margarita and her staff went above and beyond the week I stayed there in September of 2025. Though she is a manager, she helped with my luggage upon arrival and departure. She knew I was traveling alone and would be without people I knew for my birthday, and she went out of her way to ensure I had a wonderful birthday and week, with a small present, a chocolate treat and a personalized, colorful birthday note. She also assisted me with small things and it meant the world to me. Her staff also provided world class service, and assisted with the heating instructions, changing the language on the television, helping me unlock the door when my hands were full, extra room cleaning and more. The breakfast buffet is lovely, my room was gorgeous, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the heater was excellent. Tue location is outstanding, the staff is incredible ( especially the manager Margarita, Grace, Angie, Reno, Frank and the entire breakfast / cleaning staff. Thank you, Margarita and Kantu staff for making my birthday week memorable and thanks for your world class hospitality. You all work very hard , take pride in your work and sincerely care about your guests . Thank you."

"This is a beautiful elegant hotel with an old world feel and quietly blended with all the modern amenities for today’s guests. There are several quiet nooks and patios scattered in the hotel that made me wish I had all the time in the world just to sit in each for a few hours. Everyone here is kind and thoughtful. "The room was clean and well situated. Breakfast was very good quality and the staff was always pleasant and willing to help with any requests. Between my two stays (I was gone 4 days for the Inca Trail), the staff kept my luggage safe on their location and I found it waiting in my room when I returned. Everything was top notch. I was at Tierra Viva 14 years ago when I first went to Peru and it was my first choice returning this year. I do not regret that choice and would make it again in a heartbeat if I returned."
