If you rent a car I would recommend to get coins to pay for street parking since the parking meter didn't read my card and make sure to get the licence plate info from the rental place, there is no free street parking that I could find.
Numerous massage places on beach. We got wonderful one hour massage for $20!
The beach is pretty narrow and gets a bit crowded though the resort has plenty of lounge chairs. Where are jetskis and parasailing along the beach which is not my preference for noise, safety and pollution reasons. The beach is long enough to take a nice walk and we enjoyed our swim in the calm water
The beach in Playa del Carmen is the cleanist in the world, the have workers that rake the seaweed and make it beautiful. THere are many restuarants and bars that you can stop at and have drinks and food while overlooking the beautiful blue ocean water and people walking the beach.
