The room I booked wasnโt available, so instead of telling me when I checked in and asking me if I would be ok with the room I was getting, they just did it without saying anything. Once I got to my room I realized this wasnโt what I booked. I went back to the front desk to ask about it and they offered me 2 other rooms to switch to, one was a huge downgrade and another which was an upgrade but I would be charged an extra 250 euros a night. For a hotel that is charging me $1,300 a night you would expect better treatment and service. I should not have to pay for the upgrade if the room I booked wasnโt available.
Then on the first night staying in my room apparently the power went out which caused the AC to turn off while we were sleeping. My pregnant wife woke up hot in the middle of the night to 2 phone rings from our room. She then called the front desk and spoke to someone who couldnโt understand what she was saying. After I woke up a few hours later I went to the front desk to complain about the AC not working and the 2 rings that woke us up and I was told that the power went out and when it comes back on it automatically causes the phone to ring, and the breaker needed to be reset for the AC to turn on. Nothing was offered or done for this inconvenience.
At check-out I noticed a charge of 12 euros and 50 euros that I asked about. I was told the 12 was for allowing me to borrow a cork screw and the 50 was for a bottle of sunscreen. Absolutely ridiculous! Never again!
